Join us in praying for the family and friends of Harvey Warnock, a Past Post Commander at the GREATER BEACHES VFW Post 3270, who passed away this past Saturday. Harvey served as the Post Commander at Post 3270 in 2008-09 and was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the US Navy. He was a mentor and advocate to many of us, and he was an active member of Post 3270 and District 6. He was also the Treasurer for the Beaches Veterans Memorial Park in Atlantic Beach. Services for our Comrade are listed in the shared Post below from the Beaches Veterans Memorial Park. Rest your oars shipmate! We have the watch.

With profound sadness & sorrow, we are heartbroken to write of the passing of one of our board of directors, Harvey Warnock.

A Vietnam Veteran who was an all around great guy and loyal friend, someone you could always count on.

Our lives are richer for having known him! We will miss you Harvey! May you have fair winds and following seas for eternity! 🙏⚓️🙏

Harvey Kenneth Warnock, age 83 passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
He is survived by daughter Cherie Birge.

A visitation and reception for Harvey will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Beaches Chapel by Hardage-Giddens, 1701 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250.

A funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 6620 Arlington Expressway Service Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211.

A burial will follow Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 2:00 PM in Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218.

ATTENTION ALL: It comes with a Heavy Heart that I announce the passing of our BCS Founding Father, our Dear Brother and Life Line Servant, Eric Lewis "OCTO" . He always expressed his love and support to everyone. There are many who will forever cheerish his words of advice. I personally, will miss his writings, history of Nassau County and his knowledge of US history. "Fair winds and following seas," my brother. Thank you for your service and the many anchors of life. "LET'S RIDE!"

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS for our departed brother, Eric "OCTO" Lewis:

Church service: Wednesday, April 9th. Ephesus Baptist Church, 48143 Ephesus Rd, Hilliard, visitation starts at 1100, the service will follow at 12.

Escort/Procession: Departs Church at 1330. Arrive Jacksonville National Cemetery before 1430. Flag line detail will continue to committal shelter for prep/service.

Good evening, everyone! If you're able to, we would love for you to join us at Post 7909 this Friday from 5:30-7:30 pm for our next Past Commander's Dinner. See the flyer below for details. You can't get a "value meal" at McDonalds for $10! All proceeds will go toward our District Hospitality Suite during the State Convention in June 2025. Hope to see you there!

To our amazing team in VFW FL District 6: BZ on the outpouring of support within our District for our Comrades and their Posts along the Gulf Coast of Florida. This morning, I’ll be joined by a few outstanding members of our Posts and Auxiliaries to deliver these much needed supplies to the Collection Point at Homosassa FL Post 8189. We’ve also raised close to $5000 in funds to be donated to the Department of Florida’s Disaster Response Team. Proud of all of you who’ve participated, and there will be some photos and maybe videos to come. Road trip! Convoy will leave Middleburg around 11:30am. Hooyah!
