Motivation Monday

Often times when we are asked who we are, our reply is what we do. We can run a list of all of our responsibilities, talents, and gifts yet the person who asked still is left wondering who are you!

Today I want to place this in your mind, you are a being before you are a doing. You are who God has called you to be before you are what He has called you to do. You must make it a priority to seek and ask of Him, if you don't already know, who He has called you to be. Once you know, I encourage you to be before you do!! There is grace and beauty in being!!

Mentoring Makes a Difference

This morning, as I am taking a moment to reflect, I was truly able to say that mentoring makes a difference. I was able to say that P2Q is making a difference.

I began to think on yesterday as I had the opportunity to help one of the first mentee’s in our company, the first one I had personally mentored, shop for her first apartment! When I picked her up, I was like OMG I feel like this is such a mentoring moment. Throughout our whole adventure, I kept telling her how Godly proud of her that I am!

This morning, as I thought on yesterday my heart became overwhelmed with emotions and joy. I had the opportunity to see this young lady grow and mature to the amazing woman that she is today. I have the opportunity to continue to see her grow.

I cannot say what yesterday meant to her but, for me it was everything! She could have chosen anyone else to assist her yesterday so I am honored that I had this opportunity! Yesterday was AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL for me!!

I cannot wait to continue to see her growth as well as the growth of all my P2Q young ladies. I can say, to the Glory of God, P2Q has been blessed with AMAZING young ladies who are doing AMAZING in their lives!! My heart is overwhelmed with so much joy and love for them!!

This is P2Q!! This is who we are and what we do!! We make a difference in the lives of our mentors and mentees!!!!

This weekend was an amazing weekend for us!! At the start of COVID, we got the opportunity to mentor a few young ladies from JobCorp. 2 of them we got the opportunity to meet face to face as well as introduce them to their mentors. Because of scheduling issues, we had to push back the meeting for the last young ladies. The week we scheduled to meet with her was the week that they shut the center down and sent everyone home. So, with all of that and COVID becoming a pandemic we never met face to face.

This young lady was mentored by the CEO through text messages and Zoom meetings. Because she missed out on that face to face connection, she wasn’t as open as quickly as our mentees had been. Throughout the years, we had to be patient with her, give her the support we offer, and the love that we have.

Fast forward to about a year or two in to texting and talking with her mentor, she began to open up a little more. Fast even forward to last December, we agreed to take a trip to see her and her son. She was just excited as we were!

Seeing her and her son was AMAZING! It didn’t feel as if we were meeting her for the first time! It was so natural, so loving, and so healing!! Even her son enjoyed the time!!

This is what we do!! We are patient with every mentor and mentee that comes into the company. We let you open up in your time and we love you every step of the way!! When you become apart of P2Q, you become apart of our family!! We love you to life!!

So, this weekend we love seeing our Queen and her son for the first time. We loved the hugs, the conversation, the adventures, and the laughter!

Transformation Tuesday 🦋🤎

P2Q was founded because we wanted to make a difference in the lives of others. We take our wisdom, experiences, and transparency and pour it into all within our family, our company. I say all of this to say, just last Sunday we experienced the fruit of what we do by way of the transformation of one of our mentees.

This particular mentee joined our company during COVID and a lot of things transpired that prevented us from meeting face to face. But because she needed P2Q, we stayed in contact via text and Zoom. At the beginning of building a trust and bond as mentor and mentee, she wasn’t open and ready to open up which is understandable. We never pressure or rush anyone to open up. We give them the space and time they need. It takes a level of trust! Long short, it took a lot of building and bonding for this mentee to open up and trust that she was in the right hands with her mentor. But she still was in a place where she wouldn’t reach out unless she was reached out to.

Fast forward to last Sunday, she reached out to her mentor not by text but by phone call as she was faced with a personal situation. After her mentor helped her get right, she ended the call saying how thankful she was to have this company and her mentor. She stated that she has never had anyone to help and care about her as she does now.

See, the transformation part of this story is that we saw a mentee go from not communicating nor opening up to reaching out on her own knowing she can get the help she needs.

I share this to remind and encourage you all of this… you are making a difference in someone’s life. You never know who is watching you. So, make sure that you decide what kind of difference you want to make. The choice is yours but, the difference impacts more than just you.
