*Assisting with Victim Compensation Applications and Claims.
*Assistance in composing and submitting Victim Impact Statements to the courts.
*Providing crisis support, long-term support, with information about grieving and the life reconstructing process.
*Providing community agency information, Criminal Justice Advocacy and Court Escorts. Education:

ving families, friends, co-workers and the community at large, we provide information on the grief process, as well as, emotional and psychological trauma, the process of family reconstruction and the Criminal Justice System as it pertains to homicides. Support:
*Crisis and long-term peer grief support on a one-to-one basis helping survivors understand and meet the needs of family members, especially grieving children.
*Crisis management during all phases of the grief and healing process, criminal/legal proceedings, life reconstruction.
*Events to honor and remember our loved ones. FOR OUR CHILDREN:
*Our youth program initiative, Camp Maddie, is a three-day residential camp that takes place at YMCA's Camp Immokalee in Clay County, Florida and serves NE Florida Child Survivors of Homicide (ages 7 to 17). The primary goal of Camp Maddie is to provide the children with coping skills to better understand and deal with their grief. The camp staff includes mental health professionals experienced in dealing with children's grief, along with trained volunteers. We help bridge the gap between newly bereaved and others to ease their way.

A Grateful Community Remembers - Richard Glenwood Mitchell “Glen”
October 3, 1940 ~ January 8, 2017

Glen has been honored with many awards but his greatest accomplishment is that of being there for others and always offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or a silent, sustained hug. He excelled in teaching the art of forgiveness and learning to live after tragedy.

Friends will be received on Monday, Jan. 16, from 5:00-7:00pm at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville FL 32211. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 6:30pm at Christ the King Catholic Church, 472 Arlington Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211. Following the service, all are welcome to the Parish Hall at Christ The King for a reception and repast.
The family requests that Glen’s memory is honored by memorial donations to Compassionate Families, Inc., 126 W. Adams St, Suite 502, Jacksonville, FL 32202.

A Grateful Community Remembers - In Remembrance of Glen Mitchell​

Friends will be received Monday, January 16, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville FL 32211. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 6:30pm at Christ the King Catholic Church, 472 Arlington Rd N, Jacksonville, FL 32211. Reception and repast will follow in the Parish Hall at Christ The King.

Visitation for Mr. Mitchell is 5 to 7 p.m. on Jan. 16 at Arlington Funeral Home at 6920 Lone Star Road.

Thank you to everyone that attended the Christmas Vigil tonight. It warmed my heart to see so many wonderful people. Thank you Heather for sharing your beautiful voice with us tonight. I wish everyone a wonderful holiday season. Remember, our loved ones are spending Christmas with Jesus and sending us joy and peace. Happy holidays from the Mitchell family and Compassionate Families.
