RAP's mission is to preserve, enhance, and celebrate Riverside Avondale's historic fabric, arts & culture, local businesses, and public spaces.

Our mission is simple: Preserve this community. Not just the old homes and buildings, but also the beautiful parks and tree-lined streets, historic commercial corridors and vibrant cultural and business institutions. We are also proud to serve as the presenting organization for Riverside Arts Market! We are committed to protecting the sense of place and human scale that define the Riverside Avondale Historic District. If that’s your vision too, join us!

Riverside Avondale has some pretty great neighbors… and quite a few of them happen to have four legs. 🐾

For National Dog Day, we asked our community to send us photos of the pups who call our neighborhoods home—and you delivered some seriously good dogs. Swipe through for a little local puppy love, and thank you to everyone who shared their furry family members with us.

Our neighborhood has some pretty great stuff hiding in closets, garages and attics. Call For Volunteers!

Luminaria is Sunday, Dec. 20 and we’re looking for neighbors and friends to help plan the 42nd year of this beloved annual event.

Luminaria is entirely community supported. Proceeds from the purchase of luminaries from RAP go directly to provide free luminaries to parks, churches, and public spaces to bring this special night to life.

Something exciting is taking shape in 5 Points! A new 1,700-square-foot mural by Jacksonville artist Shaun Thurston is transforming the neighborhood, celebrating its vibrant diversity and honoring the rich history of Jacksonville’s LGBTQ+ community. Stay tuned as this bold new public artwork, fully funded with private donations, comes to life over the coming weeks and read the press release below ⬇️

What a fitting finale to this year’s Porchlight Series! Attendees spent the evening exploring the fascinating world of historic architectural hardware alongside self-proclaimed hardware nerd Dominick Biangone, gaining a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship hidden in every hinge, k**b, and lock. Stories of iconic restoration projects paired with practical preservation insights made for an engaging night of learning and conversation.
