Jacksonville Community Center

Jacksonville Community Center Since 1998, the Jacksonville Community Center has been housed in a small, 842-square-foot cottage at Fourth and Main Street in Jacksonville.

With affordable and free programs and performances in arts, music, culture, crafts, nature, cooking, history and wellness, Jacksonville Community Center is a gathering place for all ages serving the residents of Jacksonville and surrounding communities. The two-room cottage was remodeled by volunteers and has been used by local non-profit organizations for meetings, crafts, music and social activi

ties, and for the staging of parades and other Jacksonville events. However, the cottage was intended to be a temporary solution, which could not come close to housing all the activities that residents desired. Jacksonville Seniors, Inc. had the vision to create a separate nonprofit, Jacksonville Community Center, with the purpose of establishing a larger community center for adults and children in this area. For many years, the profits of the Jacksonville Collectibles and Thrift Store as well as the funds from the Celebrate the Arts festival, were conserved in anticipation of constructing a larger Center. More recently, momentum has been growing steadily toward the day when we can break ground. Join us for this momentous coming very soon!

Join freelance mixed-media artist and former Jacksonville Garden Club VP, Heidi Elliott, for an afternoon of color, creativity, and sweet treats at Paint & Dessert: Flower Fantasy!🍰🖌️

If you’ve ever wanted to paint but worried you weren't "artistic enough," Heidi’s gentle, step-by-step guidance will make you feel right at home. With over a decade of teaching experience, her calm approach ensures that complete beginners, seasoned regulars, and amateur artists alike walk away with an amazing original painting they’re proud to display.

We'd love your help filling it. We are happily seeking your extra garden produce! There is a basket to drop off anytime.

Also needed: peanut butter · canned proteins (tuna, chicken, beans) · pasta & sauce · rice · oats & cereal · shelf-stable milk · baby food & formula · coffee/tea · and a few "little joys" (chocolate, nice crackers, honey). Unopened, in-date items only, please. Drop-off during office hours 9am-3pm M-F, or anytime if shelf/basket have space!

Looking for a way to keep your child’s creativity alive this summer?
Give them a week of hands-on fun at the Jacksonville Community Center’s Awesome Arts & Crafts Camp!🎨✨

From July 27th–30th (12:00 PM – 3:00 PM), kids ages 6–11 will step away from the screens and dive into cool crafts, games, and outdoor play.
