Great to hear from Todd Diggs of Blue Oak Benefits at this week's Southside Business Men's Club meeting! Todd is a Medicare broker who helps people cut through the confusion of Medicare Parts A, B, C, and D โ€” and actually understand what fits their situation.

A few things that stood out:
โœ… He works with multiple carriers, so he's not pushing you toward one company โ€” his goal is finding the plan that's actually best for you
โœ… If your current plan still works well for your doctors and prescriptions, he won't push a change just to change it
โœ… Mark your calendar: Oct 15โ€“Dec 7 is Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period โ€” the window to review or switch plans for the coming year

Founded in 1932, the Southside Business Men's Club has always been more than a networking group. Back in 1994, our members spotted a gap โ€” young people in Southside schools needed more support than they were getting. So we got to work.

We started small: sponsoring school Safety Patrol programs and helping raise money to send those kids on their class trip to Washington, D.C. But those kids grew up. And a lot of them wanted to go to college.

So the Youth Achiever Program was born โ€” funded through our annual golf tournament and a long-term charitable fund built up over the years. What started as bake-sale-style fundraising turned into real college scholarships for the same young people we'd been cheering on since elementary school.

Today, SBMC offers scholarships in three categories:
๐Ÿ… Youth Achiever Program Scholarship โ€” for students who came up through our Safety Patrol roots
๐Ÿ… Pauline Smith Scholarship โ€” honoring our longtime club secretary and first female member, awarded through UNF's College of Business
๐Ÿ… JROTC Scholarship โ€” supporting students in Junior ROTC programs

Nearly a century in, we're still investing in the next generation.
