🌊 Diving Deep into Ocean Conservation with OCEARCH’s Chris Fischer!

🦈What an unforgettable meeting at SBMC! We had the absolute honor of hosting Chris Fischer, founder and expedition leader of OCEARCH, as our main speaker. 🎙️

⚓ Chris shared his inspiring journey—from a kid with a fishing rod to leading a global movement dedicated to ocean research, white shark tracking, and returning our oceans to abundance.

Huge thanks to everyone who joined, sponsored, and supported the 30th Annual Crump Kirby Memorial Youth Achiever Charity Golf Classic on October 19th!

A great time was had by all, but more importantly, this event directly impacts local high school students through our Youth Achiever Program (YAP)—helping provide college scholarships and support to exceptional young leaders in our community. 🎓✨

This tournament holds a special place in our hearts. Named in honor of Crump Kirby—a deeply respected SBMC leader who served in every board position, including President, and dedicated decades to serving our club and community—this event keeps his legacy of generosity and leadership alive. Truly a great man who left a lasting mark on us all.

Once again, the Southside Business Men's Club proves that we do great things for our community—and we have a great time doing it! 🤝

Business Spotlight: Dumpster Crushr 🚜💥

At our October 7th meeting, the Southside Business Men’s Club was joined by co-owner Bruce Ackerman (alongside his wife and business partner, Diane) of Dumpster Crushr!

Bruce shared how their service helps local businesses stop throwing money in the trash—literally. Here are the key takeaways from his presentation:

Massive Cost Savings: Instead of paying $500–$600 per haul when an open-top dumpster fills up, Dumpster Crushr uses a 5,000-pound spiked drum to pulverize and compact waste right on-site. By reducing haul frequency by up to 80%, businesses can save thousands in dumpster fees! 📉💰
