A federal court ruling this week could have important implications for the administration of federal education grants.

On September 17, a federal district court vacated a U.S. Department of Education directive that had been used in connection with the termination of more than 100 Teacher Quality Partnership (TQP) and Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) grants.

The ruling does not automatically restore previously terminated grant funds, but it raises important questions regarding federal grant administration, agency authority, and the process required when changing or terminating federal awards.

For federal program administrators, this is a decision worth following.

Thank you, AAFEPA, for the invitation to join you today. It was a pleasure spending time with Alabama’s federal program leaders and discussing the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Strong relationships matter, and I am grateful for partners like The Bruman Group, PLLC who help keep us informed, connected, and prepared for what’s next.

The AAFEPA Executive Committee met to continue planning for the 34th Annual AAFEPA Conference and discuss key priorities for the organization.
