To the Beirut veterans, survivors, families, and friends spending this weekend in Jacksonville, we are grateful you are here.

For some, this is a return to a familiar place and friendships decades long. For others, it is a way to feel closer to someone deeply loved and always missed.

Ornaments will be displayed on our tree in museum from November 23rd – January 3rd and will create a beautiful collection of memories and stories. At the end of the season, your ornament will be yours to take home and treasure for years to come.

All orders must be received no later than October 31st.

As Friday’s Beirut Memorial Observance approaches, we hold dear the memory of those who never came home—and the families, friends, and fellow service members who have carried their loss for 43 years.

Every name on the Beirut Memorial represents a life given in service, a life for which we are all eternally grateful.

We welcome the families of the fallen, the survivors, and all who are making their way to Jacksonville to pay their respects. We know this journey carries memories, grief, and bonds that time and distance will never diminish.

This community remembers those who were killed, those who survived, and those whose lives were forever changed. We are honored to stand with you in remembrance.

We will never forget.

MEET THE MARINE.

To be a Marine is to willingly take on responsibility for your brothers and sisters in arms.

This image of a buddy carry brings that responsibility into focus: the strength to shoulder another’s burden, the resolve to keep going, and the trust that someone will be there when you need them.

At Carolina Museum of the Marine, our mission is to focus on the individual Marine and Sailor. Through their stories, we explore the character behind the service - the courage, commitment, and unflinching determination to do what is right, even when it is difficult or even seemingly impossible.

These stories ask something of all of us. How do we respond when someone needs help? What does doing the right thing require of us today?
