Today is … and the data is hard to ignore.

57 million Americans can’t access a dental provider. Nearly half of all adults have gum disease. Preventive care for low-income kids is going in the wrong direction. And communities of color continue to carry a disproportionate burden of oral disease.

Shelley is a dental hygienist passionate about prevention-focused, minimally invasive dentistry. She recently created educational videos for the Tennessee Tooth Booth on Minimally Invasive Dentistry and Digital Tools in Dentistry. As the founder of Homebound Smiles in Utah, Shelley brings oral care directly to patients in public health settings, meeting patients where they are and expanding access to essential preventive care 🤍

She was recognized as one of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association’s 2025 Standout Seven for Public Health and honored with the 2025 Sunstar Award of Distinction for her commitment to community-based care 🪥✨
