Mainspring Academy provides school, clinic, and community-based services for children with special needs. Serving grades pre-k through 12, Mainspring Academy offers a curriculum that is both psychoeducational and developmentally driven in an intensive, highly supportive environment. Instruction at Mainspring Academy is based on the tenets of behavioral education, which is designed to give each child the skills they need in order to benefit from their educational placement in the least restrictive environment possible.

What happens when you twist a cabasa or scrape a stick along a wooden frog güiro? You make some pretty fascinating sounds!

A huge THANK YOU to Jessica and Cathedral Arts Project! After School crew had so much fun experimenting with both percussion instruments and discovering how different movements create different rhythms.

They’re looking, testing, turning, peeking, trying again...and figuring it out in their own way.

🎸 After School Antics: Our Favorite Songs!
There is something special about hearing the first few notes of a song you love and knowing exactly what is coming next!

Our after-school crew absolutely loves it when Jessica from Cathedral Arts Project picks up her guitar and plays their favorite songs. Before long, smiles, movement, singing, and plenty of requests for “one more!” follow. 🎶

Music has such a wonderful way of helping kids connect, express themselves, and share joyful moments.

❓Does your child have certain sounds that bother them more than others❓

At Hope Haven, we understand loud noises can be so distracting for young, sensitive ears. 🎧💛

Sometimes a simple pair of headphones can help a child block out some of the extra noise and focus on what’s happening in front of them.

We believe helping students learn to self-regulate is so important. When your child realizes, “This is too loud for me, and I know what can help,” they begin building confidence, independence, and the ability to create a space where they feel safe and comfortable.

Tap, listen, smile…and tap again!

Our students are so fascinated by the different sounds they can create on the xylophone. Each colorful bar brings a new note to discover and another reason to keep experimenting!
