Lookout 4H Club Lookout 4H Club Welcome to the official Lookout 4-H club page.

Meetings are held at the Cherokee County Show Barn & Exposition Center on the loop in Jacksonville on the second Thursday of each month (August - May) at 6:30 PM. We hope to see you there!

We’ve got a busy week ahead! Save these dates and make plans to join us!

📍 CLUB MEETING TOMORROW!!
Monday, October 12 • 6:30 PM at the barn
Come hear about upcoming activities and ways to get involved!

🌾 HAY JUDGING INVITATIONAL
Tuesday, October 13 • 6 PM at Rusk High School
Arrive a few minutes early and bring:
• $5 entry fee
• A plain folder or clipboard
• A couple of pencils

🌾 COUNTY HAY JUDGING COMPETITION
Wednesday, October 14 • 1 PM
Please arrive around 12:30 PM to meet with your team and get your Scantron organized. Bring the same supplies as Tuesday—this competition is FREE!

🍀 You MUST be an active, registered Lookout 4-H member to participate. Grade checks and school excuse notes are being sent out for members who attend school.

🍂 FALL FLANNEL FUN!
Serena Bemis is leading our club’s entry in the Annual Scarecrow Trail, and we need enthusiastic kids and parents to help decorate!

🍀 Hello, Lookout 4-H families and NEW 4-H Families! 🍀

We’re excited to kick off a brand-new 4-H year and look forward to seeing everyone at our first official meeting!

Please be sure to locate the sign-in sheet when you arrive. Signing in is very important for 4-H record keeping and meeting-credit requirements.

Following the meeting, we’ll have an educational workshop on hay judging for anyone interested in competing in the Hay Judging Contest on October 14.

Online 4-H registration is now open! Visit tx4h.tamu.edu to enroll your children for the new school year. Youth must be active members to participate in any 4-H contests, competitions, livestock shows, or other activities.

Adults who plan to lead or assist with special groups or activities involving 4-H members other than their own children must also register online as adult volunteers.

Important reminder: Lookout 4-H requires youth to attend at least three meetings to be eligible to show a project at CCJLS at the end of March.

Tonight our 4-H club traded our usual meeting activities for a fun night of bowling at Highland Lanes Bowling & Fun Center! We had a great time spending time together, cheering each other on, and of course, trying to get those strikes! 😄

Thank you to everyone who came out and made tonight such a fun event! 💚🍀

🍀🎳 Strike Up Some Fun with Lookout 4-H! 🎳🍀

Our 2026–2027 Lookout 4-H Officers wanted to kick off the new 4-H year in the best way they could imagine… with an evening full of fun, friendship, and everything we love about 4-H!

Before we dive into a busy season of livestock shows, photography contests, horticulture projects, meetings, and competitions, they wanted to bring everyone together for one night to reconnect, welcome new faces, and give you a sneak peek at all the exciting things they have planned for this year.

And honestly… what better way to do that than bowling with your 4-H friends? 🎳💚

Whether you’ve been in 4-H for years or you’ve been wondering what it’s all about, we’d love for you to join us!

Cherokee County’s Lookout 4-H Horse judging team placed 3rd in Reasons today at the 4-H State Roundup competition! And November made the top 10 in Individual Reasons! Very proud of these girls for their hard work in some stiff competition!

Lookout 4H Club members had the honor of hosting the Sohn family as their guest speakers at our March meeting. Stephen and Kristen Sohn operate a home-based rescue for local dogs and cats and have greatly impacted our area over the years. As part of our county-wide service project, we were able to donate many pet-related supplies to them to say Thank You and encourage them in their ongoing efforts!
