🌟 Building a Stronger Onslow County!

Last week, the Rotary Club of Jacksonville–New River welcomed Melissa Brandt, Chief Executive Officer of Onslow Coastal Alliance (OCA), formerly known as Jacksonville Onslow Economic Development.

Melissa introduced members to the organization's new brand and website, along with its strategic vision for a stronger, more diverse, and resilient local economy.

With a renewed focus on attracting new businesses, supporting existing employers, creating quality jobs, developing our workforce, and fostering public-private partnerships, OCA is working to make Onslow County an even better place to live, work, and thrive.

Thank you, Melissa, for sharing your vision and the exciting opportunities ahead for our community!

💙💛 October is shaping up to be a busy month for Jacksonville-New River Rotary!
Our club is looking forward to another New River Quarterly Cleanup, continuing our support of Onslow Community Outreach food distributions, and completing our New River YMCA bench & planter box project later this month. We’re also proud to continue supporting local organizations and events throughout our community. 🫶
Service Above Self is more than our motto — it’s what Rotary is all about!

💙 A little look back at a wonderful evening for an even more wonderful cause! 💎👖

Last week, we traded our regular Rotary meeting for a little extra family, fellowship, and fun! 💙

Rotarians gathered at the Williams Farm Clubhouse with spouses and children for our Family BBQ. We enjoyed dinner and dessert from Smithfield’s, plenty of time to visit and catch up, and even a little karaoke to round out the evening! 🎤🎶

It was a wonderful reminder that Rotary is about more than service — it’s also about the friendships and community we build along the way.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such an enjoyable evening! 🫶

💎👖 Diamonds, Denim & a Great Cause!

Members of the Rotary Club of Jacksonville–New River came together at this year’s Diamonds & Denim fundraiser in support of One Place!

It was a wonderful evening supporting an organization that makes such a meaningful difference for children and families in our community. We’re proud to stand behind One Place and its mission of providing vital resources, family support, and advocacy for children in Onslow County.

Great cause, great company, and always a reason to smile when Rotarians get together! 💙

The Rotary Club of Jacksonville New River had the pleasure of hosting Dawn Rochelle, CEO of One Place, who spoke about the growing need for child care in Jacksonville and Onslow County.

One Place is leading important work in early childhood through programs like NC Pre-K, Early Head Start, child care resource services, early literacy, and support for local families and child care providers.

Thank you, Dawn, for sharing more about this important work and the impact One Place is making in our community.

🛠️🌱 Service Above Self… with plenty of laughs along the way! 💙💛

Saturday morning, the Rotary Club of Jacksonville–New River rolled up our sleeves at the New River YMCA Youth Center!

Our crew built and filled several large planter boxes, helped fill in an area of the children’s playground, and moved a LOT of dirt—shovel after shovel and wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow. 💪🪴

It was hot, humid, and definitely a workout, but the water was cold, the attitudes were great, and—as always with this club—the laughter was plentiful. We were especially happy to have a couple of community volunteers show up and jump right in alongside us! ❤️

We work hard, serve proudly, and somehow ALWAYS find a way to have a good time doing it. (Let’s just say the wheelbarrows weren't only used for hauling dirt. 😂)

That’s the spirit of the Rotary Club of Jacksonville–New River!
