Brian is still working with the Igloo to secure dates, but it will likely be a mix of Friday and Saturday early evenings (similar to this current season), running from October to February (exact dates will be announced as soon as Brian is able to confirm them). In honor of our club's founder and first President, Tom Merrett, the League will be named "The Merrett League" and will be split into two divisions - The Granite Division (for more competitive teams), and the Ice Breakers Division (for introductory level teams).

2 of the 3 JGCC teams are still alive at The Orlando Curling Club's Pirates of the Curl-ribbean Bonspiel and are preparing to take the ice at 7pm this evening. Both teams are fighting for a spot in the C-Event finals - if both win tonight we will see some Duval-on-Duval crime tomorrow morning...but first things first...good luck tonight, Team Peg Leg Pals & Team Duval Sea Dogs!

Jacksonville curlers, we have 8 spots remaining for this Friday, July 31st.

You might be wondering why we're posting a picture of a hack in the ice...it's because this isn't just a hack, it's a picture of customer service that went above and beyond.

Last Saturday, during the last regular season draw of our Spring/Summer league we had one of our hacks fail. With the playoffs set to start today (Friday, 7/17), we went online Saturday night to see if we could find a replacement hack in time for the Friday evening playoff draws. Dakota Curling Supplies not only had one in stock, but Jason Armstrong followed up on the order that we placed Saturday night to make sure we had the two sets of Marco Rubbers that we needed instead of the one that we ordered with the hack (us Florida curlers aren't as familiar with this stuff as some of the rest of you), and he personally took it to the UPS store on Tuesday and upgraded the shipping (at no extra charge) to make sure it got down to Jacksonville by the end of the day Thursday. And not only that, when we received and opened the package on Thursday afternoon we found that he'd also installed the rubbers on the hack for us already!

Thanks very much, Jason and Dakota Curling Supplies! Just another example of how the curling community takes care of each other.

First time curling, but after some thorough instruction from our pro, Faith casually pulled off a double takeout like she’s been doing this for years 🥌😂Opponents: emotionally unavailable after this one.
