What a most excellent night Brothers of Oceanview Lodge had this evening at the monthly School of Instruction which was held at Stafford Caldwell Lodge located at the Scottish Rite building downtown. Right Honorable District Instructor Lynnwood Thomas Sr. kept the evening flowing smoothly. The food was catered through HOLA MEXICAN RESTAURANT on Main St in the Historic Eastside of Jacksonville. Powering through almost every obstacle Brothers from this Lodge could face to get to the Stated Communication Meeting, we came together strong for another wonderful night sheltered from the storms of the world in that beautiful building we call our Home Lodge. Right Worshipful Mike Pease extended his cable tow a few miles to come grab the Senior Deacon who had car troubles. Worshipful Kevin Colcord through his fight with cancer on his scalp and everything else he's holding still had room in his arms to hold us together. W. Tery Kutch put together a feast of deli sandwiches, potatoe salad and sweet tea to keep us fed and happy for the meeting. Right Honorable Lynnwood Thomas Sr, (G.M.I.T) keeping us on track, R.W. Jesse Tiner to make sure we're on the right track, and W. Leroy Jeffers made it in despite his pain and had several good laughs, great times and memories we cherish. Lynnwood Thomas Sr. also received his certificate recognizing him as a Perpetual Member of Oceanview Masonic Lodge No. 408. Thanks to all those that could make it out tonight, cabletow permitting. And if you want to get in on the fun we have at our Lodge and the pride we take in our floor work, feel free to come out the first Tuesday of every month. Meal is at 6:30, Meeting at 7:30.

Oceanview Lodge No. 408 gave a small token of appreciation to the local Jacksonville Sheriff's Office in the form of a table full of Chik-Fil-A Deluxe meals. We are ever so grateful for all the hard working men and women that keep us safe. A while back we brought in pizzas for the dayshift. So it was time to show the hard working nightshift we didn't forget them too! It's difficult to word how important and taxing their job can be. With retired police officers in our Lodge, as well as one leading it, (Worshipful Kevin Colcord of the Fort Wayne Indiana Police Department) we have a focus on cementing a strong connection between our community and the Officers that Serve and Protect it.

Afterwards a couple of us went for ribs, a well deserved feast of our own, it's always fulfilling and rewarding to look back at days like today and know that we didn't just watch reruns on T.V., but we got out and made an impact on our community while having great times with Brothers that grow to be friends, and then become Family. Thanks to Terry Kutch and Joseph Nordeng Jr for making this a group effort to be proud of. 👏

Worshipful Kevin Colcord hard at work for the betterment of our home Lodge. He leads by example, truly a beacon of hope and reassurance in this hectic world. Today he is hard at work at the Secretary Seminar at Orange Park Lodge No. 267, learning all the tricks of the trade to keep our home Lodge going for another lifetime to come. Thank you Worshipful Kevin for all the long nights and all the hard work you do. If he only knew the impact on the community he has and in how many ways.. Keep up the great work Worshipful Kevin Colcord!!!

A few Brothers from Oceanview Lodge No. 408 had the honor of dining at Amelia Lodge No. 47 this evening as District 8 Committeemen and our very own Right Honorable District Instructor of the 8th Masonic District Lynnwood Thomas Sr. Let's not forget W. Darryl Howard is a great example of a public speaker. He holds a rooms attention very well. The Cornerstone of Freemasonry Jesse Robert Tiner was there as well as an American Treasure Ed O'Rourke. Prayers are with that Landmark of our community as he just lost his wife of 53 years in the last couple weeks.

WE DID IT AGAIN!!!!🥳😎👏 Oceanview Lodge brought home the traveling gavel once again! Twice in a row now! Worshipful Kevin Colcord has excellent motivational and organizational skills that paid off very well today. A long drive out to Amelia Lodge No. 47 later and we got a great meal, greater fellowship and had a very fulfilling evening. Thank you to all the brothers that came out tonight to make it happen once again! And a special thanks to the photography skills and timing of the District Deputy Grand Master of the 9th Masonic District Steve Meserve for capturing the winning shot of the two Traveling Gavel winners 🥳🏆🏆🏆
