Jacksonville Orchid Society

Jacksonville Orchid Society - Providing camaraderie and assistance to orchid addicts since 1943. Guests and visitors are welcome at all of our functions.

The Jacksonville Orchid Society caters to orchid growers in the greater Jacksonville area. Club founder Mary McQuery formed the club in 1943 making the JOS one of the oldest orchid societies in the country.

The JUNE 2026 Jacksonville Orchid Society (JOS) Orchid Beauty Contest (OBC) is now

WE'LL ANNOUNCE THEN NEXT ORCHID BEAUTY CONTEST NEXT MONTH!

As before, the rules are simple. Post your picture of your pretty orchid growing during the month and we'll judge it for the OBC at the end of the month.

HERE'S HOW IT WILL WORK
Add your orchid picture here as a Comment at the bottom of this posting and note it as your entry for the OBC. Include your name and the name of the orchid. Multiple entries in a month are encouraged and hoped for!

JUDGING
Participation is open to all members of the Jacksonville Orchid Society. Orchids will be judged on the first day after each month.

WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT
We'll announce the winner at the following month's meeting of the JOS. The winner will receive raffle tickets for the evening's drawing.

OTHER THOUGHTS ON THE OBC
You don't need an expensive camera to enter pictures like the one below as it was done on an older iPhone. Keep it simple; a smart phone can record amazing images.
