We play in support of our two local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, the pediatric programs at Wolfson Children's Hospital and UF Health Jacksonville. Since 2010 Jacksonville area Extra Lifers have raised more than $80,000 to support the pediatric efforts at UF Health Jacksonville and Wolfson Children's Hospital, right here, in Jacksonville, Florida. On February 3rd, 2015 Jacksonville became
part of an elite group within the Extra Life community when their Extra Life Guild was officially launched. The Extra Life Jacksonville Guild has set a goal to recruit as many gamers as we can to participate in a 24 hour gaming marathon on November 4, 2017. and Canada designed to help spread the word about Extra Life. Essentially, it is a group of passionate Extra Lifers who want to get more involved and help strengthen the Extra Life community on a local level. About Extra Life:
On an Autumn Saturday each year since 2008, tens of thousands of gamers have joined together to save the lives of local kids in a celebration of gaming culture that we call Extra Life. From console games to tabletop RPGs to even lawn sports, Extra Life gives people that love to play a chance to do what they love to save lives and make a difference. Originally designed as a 24-hour marathon of gaming, Extra Life has evolved to mean different things to different people (though most of our participants still attempt the marathon). To participate you need only sign up (free) and gather the support of your friends and family through tax-deductible donations to your local CMN Hospital. Then on November 7, 2015 play any game(s) you want on any platform(s) that you want with anyone you want for as long as you want. The proceeds from Extra Life stay where they're raised to support children's hospitals. In 2012, Extra Life participants raised a little over $2,000 for Wolfson. In 2013, we raised over $18,101 for Wolfson. In 2014, we raised over $23,000
In 2015, we recruited over 700 gamers in Jacksonville and raised over $33,000! In 2016, we raised over $20,000

GAME/PLATFORM: Play any games on any platforms you want including mobile devices or board games! HOW IT WORKS: Simply ask your friends and family to sponsor your efforts. They can make a monthly pledge or a one-time gift. Then, have a seat and play games on November 5th. WHO IT BENEFITS: Gamers select the children's hospital they want to play for during registration. In the US and Canada there are more than 170 CMN Hospitals to choose from. Players outside of North America can choose hospitals and causes that work specifically in their area of the world.
