Founded in June 1956 and incorporated nationally in 1972, the Continental Societies, Incorporated is an international public service organization dedicated to the socioeconomic and cultural welfare of underprivileged children and youth. was chartered on May 26, 1989, by 26 dedicated, diverse women under the National Leadership of Dr. Lois Harris-Jones and National Membership Chair, Edna Calhoun.
