This past weekend we held a boat naming ceremony! We named 6 of our boats raising $11,000 for our team! 4 singles were named: Polka Dot, Morbidly OBeast, Scull n Bones, and Good Grief. A double/pair was named Usain Boat. Lastly, a coxed 4 was named Devine Intervention. Thank you to all who attended the ceremony and special thanks to our boat naming sponsors, your generosity is greatly appreciated!

This weekend we had an amazing time at our annual team banquet where we celebrated our accomplishments from this past year. We celebrated our 8 seniors, 3 of which have been recruited and will be continuing their rowing in college! We have had an amazing season that’s not over quite yet! We are sending 2 of our boats to Youth Nationals this June!!! Be on the lookout for our team in Sarasota!

Our final senior is Emma Gallup! Emma is graduating from Bishop Kenny High School and will be attending Michigan State University majoring in Human Biology and as a Division 1 coxswain. Go Green 💚🤍

Emma has been part of First Coast for the past seven years and has left a lasting impact on everyone around her.

This past weekend we traveled to Sarasota to compete at the USRowing Southeast Youth Regional Championships. All five of our boats competed in the Grand Final, 3 of which earned a bid to the Youth National Championships which is back in Sarasota in a month.
Here’s how we did:
🥇- Men’s 2V 4+: Will M, Graham G, Nico H, Oliver S, cox- Jillian H
🥈- Women’s Youth 1x: Avisa R.
🥉- Women’s Youth 4-: Rachael L, Annelise D, Harper J, Jillian H.

This past weekend we competed at the FSRA Sweep Championships. We brought 4 crews, all four made it into grand finals, 3 of which came home as state medalists!

🥈 Silver Medalists:
Women’s 2-: Claire C and Avery C

Our next senior is Bennett Anderson! Bennett is graduating from Stanton Preparatory School and plans to attend the University of Florida majoring in Aerospace Engineering. Go Gators 🧡💙

This weekend, we proudly celebrated three of our seniors as they committed to continue their rowing careers at the collegiate level.
Congratulations to Audrey Jovel (United States Coast Guard Academy), Avisa Rezeai (Stanford University), and Emma Gallup (Michigan State University).
