Creativity doesn't need a classroom. Sometimes it just needs a floor, some scrap paper, and a mother who refuses to give up.

These photos were taken in 2016 when my Education Specialist and project manager, Path Chhavivorn, took me to visit the Women Recycle Group in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Thirteen mothers โ€” displaced from their homes after a devastating fire in 2003 โ€” learned to hand-roll beads from recycled newspaper and scrap paper. Necklaces. Bracelets. Earrings. Every piece made by hand. Every bead rolled one at a time.

Their craft became their income. Their income became their children's education. 65 kids in school because of what their mothers built with their own hands.

That's art. That's resilience. That's exactly what Everybody Gets To Eat Foundation stands for.

Because at EGTE, we believe the arts are not a luxury โ€” they are how communities heal and rebuild.

That's why we support the arts on BOTH sides of the world:

๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ญ In Cambodia โ€” we're building schools in provinces devastated by conflict, giving children a safe place to learn, create, and grow.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ In Eatonville & Orlando, FL โ€” our URBANFEST360 Creative Futures program brings film, music, visual arts, poetry, and mentorship to disadvantaged youth at the Boys & Girls Club who would otherwise have zero access to arts education.

From the floors of Phnom Penh to the classrooms of Eatonville โ€” we show up for children and communities wherever creativity needs a champion.

This is our story. This is our mission.

What happens when you bring together a team of Emmy Award-winning writers, directors, producers, music artists, and mentors โ€” and put them in a room with young people who are hungry to learn?

You get Creative Futures.

Everybody Gets To Eat Foundation is proud to have partnered with to bring the Creative Futures Youth Program to life at the Eatonville Boys & Girls Club. Over two incredible days, students experienced hands-on workshops in writing, directing, acting, music production, and artist development led by professionals who donated their time and talent to pour into the next generation.

This would not have been possible without the vision, collaboration, and tireless planning of the entire UrbanFest 360ยฐ team. From concept to ex*****on, every detail was intentional โ€” and the smiles on these studentsโ€™ faces tell you everything you need to know.

Thank you to our Creative Futures team leaders:

Christmas Day 2016. Phnom Penh, Cambodia. ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ญ

I jumped in a tuk tuk with two Buddhist monks I just met. We didn't speak a single word of each other's language.

But I had candy and noodles. They had wheels. And there were hungry children living on the Riverside.
No translator needed. No contract. No press coverage.

They understood exactly what we were doing โ€” and they never hesitated. Not for one second. ๐Ÿ™
This is what Everybody Gets To Eat Foundation looks like in the field. Not a boardroom. A tuk tuk. Two monks. A veteran. And children who needed to eat on Christmas.

Service speaks every language. 12 years. 70+ projects. 6 countries. $70Kโ€“$80K of my own money.

Help us keep going

Right now I'm raising funds to build 5 schools in Cambodia for children just like these.
$10,000 builds one complete school. $25 provides supplies for one child.

These kids don't need our pity โ€” they need our action.

๐ŸŽจโœจ INTRODUCING THE MANDALA CHALLENGE โœจ๐ŸŽจ

What if one circle could change a child's world?

Everybody Gets To Eat Foundation is proud to launch The Mandala Challenge โ€” a FREE monthly creative arts & mindfulness program for youth ages 5โ€“12 right here in Jacksonville and Orlando.

Here's what we're bringing to YOUR community:

๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ FREE art supplies โ€” zero cost to families
๐Ÿ’ฐ $100 monthly prize for winners in each age group
๐Ÿง˜ Breathwork & guided meditation woven into every session
๐Ÿ† Certificate of achievement for ALL participants
๐ŸŽ–๏ธ Winners featured in our online gallery

Why mandalas? Because these ancient patterns do something powerful โ€” they calm the mind, build focus, spark creativity, and give children a voice when words aren't enough.

Anxiety. Stress. Difficulty expressing emotions. Our kids are facing it all. The Mandala Challenge meets them exactly where they are.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Is your school, rec center, Boys & Girls Club, or after-school program interested in hosting a session? WE BRING EVERYTHING. You just open the door.

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ Rishikesh, India. 2018. The banks of the Ganges River.

This is where it all became clear.
I sat in one of the most spiritual places on Earth โ€” where the sacred Ganga flows through the Himalayan foothills โ€” and I explained the heart behind Everybody Gets to Eat.

This wasn't a boardroom presentation. This wasn't a fundraising pitch. This was a man, a mission, and a moment of truth.

What does Everybody Gets to Eat mean?
It's not just about food. It's about dignity. It's about opportunity. It's about making sure every child has a seat at the table โ€” not just for a meal, but for a future.

Our mission: To love is to share and serve. That's not a tagline.

A teacher stands at the front of the classroom. The children rise to their feet.

"Good morning. How are you?"

And in unison, these beautiful children respond โ€” in their native Khmer greeting โ€” with respect, with joy, with hope.

"Thank you. Please sit down."

This isn't just a classroom. This is a dream realized.

Back in 2016-2017, Everybody Gets to Eat Foundation built our very first school in Preah Vihear Province โ€” one of Cambodia's most remote and underserved regions near the Thailand border.
We didn't write a check from a distance. We traveled over 250 kilometers through rural roads. We assessed the site ourselves.

We worked with local partners like Kimhoun Ham and Vannarith Lork to make it happen. Total cost: $4,943. That's all it took to change the future of an entire village.

Where there was nothing, now there is education.
Where there was no future, now there is opportunity.
Where there was silence, now there is the beautiful sound of children learning.

โ†’ A full classroom in Preah Vihear
โ†’ Children engaged and eager to learn
โ†’ A teacher leading them forward
โ†’ Walls covered with learning materials
โ†’ Desks filled with students who finally have a place to grow
This is what "To love is to share and serve" looks like.
Since 2013:
โœ… 70+ projects across 5 countries
โœ… 7,000+ children impacted
โœ… Schools built in Cambodia, feeding programs in Philippines, Vietnam, India, and the USA

Every child deserves a seat at the table โ€” not just for a meal, but for an education.

This school in Preah Vihear is proof that one person CAN make a difference.
