Good morning everyone.
We've been trying to formulate this message for a while and haven't really been sure how to. Myself and my fellow coordinators have been talking about this and created several pros and cons to what our thoughts are.
It is with some great sadness through this announcement that we have decided not to do PPD for a while. We are reorganizing our event and coming up with different ideas and concepts. While doing that, we can't host the event at the same time.
We've been working under the umbrella of the Pagan Pride Day organization and it has been an amazing starting point for this adventure however, we've had a few things that we're struggling to cope and accept with.
2020 and 2021 showed us and opened our eyes to the true needs for our vendors and the general public and the changes we need to make to accommodate everyone in the best ways possible. Our own coordinators have had struggles during this time along with everyone. Some of us, in these years, have lost jobs, loved ones, financially struggled, and mentally struggled. We have seen how hard it's been for everyone around the world, especially in our own communities.
As you know, a core of our volunteers come from our own local coven, Coven Le Corbeau Noir of Eastern NC. We just celebrated our 10th year anniversary. We rely on our families and close friends to help as well. We've decided to continue the event, but under our covens own 501c3. It'll take some time for us to do that but, once we get that, we will work on reestablishing this event. With that said, there are a couple things that would change such as being able to have the event in spring versus fall and not having to worry about hurricanes and being able to open up more flexibility in having certain things at our function.
We do not take this situation lightly, but we feel that this will open up a lot of options and things for us. The core items will not change with our entry fee being items towards our local non-profit organizations that help our communities.
We hope everyone understands and will keep checking here from time to time for updates. What we need from you at this time is patience and understanding and some potential additional ideas for new festival names and ideas if you have any.
Definitely shoot us an email or message if you have any ideas for our new set ups, functions, and names.
We thank you for everything everyone. We're not ending, just changing things around to benefit everyone.
