Social Time Together: Luncheon at the Blue Bamboo

Nineteen TWCJ members and one guest enjoyed an end-of-summer get together in a private dining
room at Blue Bamboo Canton Bistro in Mandarin on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 11:30 a.m until 1:30 pm.

Each member shared memories of a favorite summer vacation which were interesting and varied greatly from a week with children and grandchildren at the beach, to lakeside vacations at one of
Florida’s 7800 natural lakes, a train trip on the Canadian Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Calgary, family trips to Europe, and many more.
Chef Dennis Chan treated members to a delicious dessert at the conclusion of lunch. Our waiter,Ashley, worked alone and did a fantastic job taking our orders and serving our lunches... A
FANTASTIC celebration to end summer, reconvene, enjoy conversation with friends, and anticipate the beginning of the 2026-27 club year.

The Woman's Club of Jacksonville proudly hosted its Annual Scholarship Luncheon on May 27, 2026, at Timuquana Country Club. We were honored to recognize 28 outstanding young women who are graduating high school or continuing their college education. The organization granted $54,500 in scholarships.

A special highlight of the program was the presentation of the Jerry Ferguson Memorial Scholarship, named in honor of Jerry Ferguson, a longtime club member and dedicated community leader. This award was presented to Sage Peterson, a graduate of Stanton College Preparatory School, in recognition of her outstanding achievements and promise for the future.

Congratulations to all of the scholarship recipients as they pursue their educational goals and future success!

A Legacy in the Spotlight: Celebrating Leadership at Our March 26 Luncheon
🌿 Members of TWCJ had the pleasure of hearing From Ashes to New David McGowan, retiring President and CEO of WJCT Public Media. He shared reflections on a remarkable career in public broadcasting and community impact. His insights on leadership, storytelling, and service left us all feeling grateful and motivated. In addition, we awarded several mini-grants and welcomed new members. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special program!
