The Lodge is dark in August. Dinner is served at 6:30 p.m., and the Lodge opens at 7:30 p.m. HISTORY

Duval Lodge No. 159 F. & A. was chartered January 19th, 1906. The Lodge is named for William Pope Duval, the first provincial governor of Florida, and his brother, John Pope Duval, Florida’s first Grand Master. Duval’s first Worshipful Master was Frank Stephens. Since his time in the East, many of

the Lodge’s past Masters have gone on to distinguish themselves in the higher Masonic degrees or in the Florida Grand Lodge. Among them, R⸫W⸫ Curtis F. Archer (1951) and R⸫W⸫ Charles W. Snead (1969), who went on to serve as District Deputy Grand Masters. Most notably, however, is our own M⸫W⸫ Wilbur W. Masters Jr., who went on to serve as Grand Master of Masons for the State of Florida subsequent to his 1939 reign as Duval Lodge’s Master. Since it’s establishment, Duval Lodge has been an integral part of our community, reflecting not only the rich diversity, but also the character and distinction of our historic river city.

Duval Lodge, along with Stanford Caldwell Lodge and Albert J. Russell Lodge, was proud to take part in this Saturday’s beach clean up. Thank you to all the brothers, families, and friends who came out and helped keep our beaches clean for future generations to enjoy. It was a meaningful day spent in family, fellowship, and service while also showing respect for Mother Nature, who gives so plentifully and gracefully. We are proud to have dedicated our Saturday to such a worthy cause and grateful for everyone who helped make it possible.
