“How my relationship with God has changed throughout this process…”

One of the beautiful things about walking with the Lord is discovering more of who He is and recognizing how He’s already at work around us. As she shares, Perspectives has deepened her walk with God and made her more eager to step into what He’s doing—not because she has to make something happen, but because she gets to join Him in the work He’s already doing in people’s lives.

In this workshop, Pam Arlund, co-editor of the Perspectives 5th Edition and incoming lead editor for the 6th Edition, shares her hopes for future curriculum development and the importance of building a globally collaborative process.

Pam explores how Perspectives can remain faithful to its core biblical and missional framework while becoming more accessible, culturally relevant, and useful to Christians around the world. She discusses the vision for a global curriculum council, the importance of developing writers and editors from different cultures, and the challenge of balancing a consistent curriculum with local contextualization.

What does Jenga have to do with the Great Commission?

In a Perspectives class this fall, students took on a challenge that required creativity, collaboration, and a willingness to think outside the box.

The activity may have looked like a game, but it opened the door to some much bigger questions about how we participate in God’s global purpose.

One question they wrestled with: Should every strategy for engaging in the Great Commission look the same? What do you think?

Our Fall Perspectives Classes are at the halfway point, and we want to pause and pray for our students, instructors, and teams. Would you join us?

Pray for perseverance. Ask God to give students the discipline and motivation to keep up with the readings, coursework, and assignments—even when life gets busy or the semester feels long. Pray for spiritual protection. As students grow in their understanding of God’s global purpose and consider their own role in His mission, pray for protection from discouragement, distraction, division, and spiritual opposition. Pray for transformation. Pray that this course would be more than something students complete, but that God would use it to shape their hearts, deepen their faith, and invite them into greater participation in His mission.

Today, on World Teachers’ Day, we're celebrating the Instructors and Facilitators who make Perspectives classes possible. Our facilitators are local to each class, shepherding students through all 15 lessons and helping connect the pieces into one journey. Our instructors travel to teach individual lessons.

Together, they do much more than teach content. They create space for students to wrestle with difficult questions, engage deeply with Scripture, and consider how biblical truth connects to everyday life.

To every Facilitator and Instructor: thank you. Thank you for saying yes, showing up, asking good questions, sharing your wisdom, and investing in students.

Creemos que el propósito global de Dios no depende de que nosotros tengamos todas las respuestas. Por eso oramos. Oramos porque dependemos de Dios y no de nosotros mismos.

Queremos que la humildad dé forma a nuestras motivaciones, que la fe guíe nuestras decisiones y que la oración dé forma a nuestro trabajo. Así es como vivimos nuestra dependencia de Dios.

We explore what Scripture reveals about God’s character, His relationship with humanity, His promise to bless all peoples, and what it means for us to join the work He is already doing in the world.

And this is just Lesson 1!
