September is National Su***de Prevention Month. Awareness matters, but action saves lives.

Here is one action you can take: learn QPR. In a single hour, you learn to recognize when someone is at risk and steer them toward help. No mental health background needed.

Hearts 4 Minds offers QPR training across Northeast Florida.

Turn caring into doing this month. Book your training in the first comment.

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day. For us, it is deeply personal.

Hearts 4 Minds exists because our founder lost her son Alex. He was 22. Alex took what he thought was Xanax. It was laced with fentanyl, and it took his life.

His story is a heartbreaking reminder that one pill can be deadly. The people we lose to overdose are so much more than how they died. Every one of them is someone's child, partner, or friend.

If you or someone you love is struggling, help exists. Reach the SAMHSA helpline at 1-800-662-4357, any hour, any day.

Grief does not follow a schedule, and it never fully ends. It just changes shape.

We know that firsthand. Our founder Sheryl Johnson lost her son Alex. He had battled anxiety and depression for years. That loss is woven into everything we do.

This National Grief Awareness Day, we want to release the pressure so many feel to hurry up and heal. A wave of sorrow can hit years later on an ordinary Tuesday. That is not a setback. That is love with nowhere to go.

If you are grieving, take all the time you need. If someone you know is, you do not need perfect words. Just keep showing up.

Be the steady presence someone leans on today.

Big news, and we could not be more grateful.

Hearts 4 Minds has received a Red Coats' Community Grant from THE PLAYERS Championship to support art and education. This generous gift fuels our mission across Northeast Florida. It helps us connect people to mental health care, break the stigma around mental illness, and make sure no one searches for help alone.

Support like this keeps hope in motion. Thank you, THE PLAYERS, for believing in a healthier Jacksonville.

The backpacks are bought. But one thing does not fit in a locker: the knot in a kid's stomach about going back.

Back-to-school season is exciting for some kids and quietly nerve-wracking for others. And they tend to show it rather than say it. Learn what drives that anxiety, with practical ways parents can help.

A confident school year starts with a supported mind. Read it in the first comment.

: Neighbors Who Built Durkeeville

Strong communities are not built by accident. They are built by people who show up for one another, year after year.

At Paschal Brothers Hardware, our Murals with Meaning installation honors the Local Legends of Durkeeville, the pioneers who shaped this historic 32209 neighborhood. Artists Chris Clark of The Performers Academy and Tatiana Kitchen of Jacksonville Arts & Music School captured their legacy as part of a wider revitalization effort.

The lesson they left behind doubles as a mental health truth: we are healthiest when we look after each other.

Stop by Paschal Brothers Hardware and pay your respects to Durkeeville's finest.
