Today we honor those who gave everything in service to our country. πŸ’š

As we remember the fallen, we also hold space for the veterans, active service members, and military families who carry invisible wounds long after their service ends. Mental health challenges affect our military community at profound rates -- and finding the right support can feel just as hard as any battle.

Hearts 4 Minds connects veterans and military families in Northeast Florida to mental health resources and providers, because no one who has served should have to navigate that alone.
If you or someone you love needs support, H4M Connect is here to help find the right path forward.

We're three weeks into Mental Health Awareness Month, and the work doesn't stop here. πŸ’š

Every day, Hearts 4 Minds connects people in Northeast Florida to mental health resources, providers, and support. That work is possible because of people who believe in it enough to invest in it every single month.

The Dragonfly Circle is our monthly sustainer program. Here's what your recurring gift makes possible:
πŸ’š $4/month connects 50 people annually to mental health education
πŸ’š $40/month funds QPR su***de prevention training for over 400 community members per year
πŸ’š $400/month helps thousands of families connect with mental health providers through H4M Connect

Mental Health Awareness Month is one month.

The need is year-round. Your support makes sure we're here for it.

Q. P. R. πŸ’š

Three letters. One conversation. A chance to save a life.

Question. Ask someone directly if they're okay. It's not awkward -- it's lifesaving.

Persuade. Listen without judgment. Let them know they matter and that help exists.

Refer. Connect them to support. A counselor, a hotline, a next step forward.

Most people who are struggling won't reach out on their own. But with QPR training, you'll know how to recognize the signs -- and what to do when you see them.

Hearts 4 Minds offers QPR su***de prevention training to individuals and organizations throughout Northeast Florida. Because everyone deserves someone in their corner who knows how to help.

: Hope and Healing at JU

At Jacksonville University's Health Sciences Complex, mental health awareness takes center stage with a mural designed to inspire hope and resilience.

Created by artist David Nackashi Art, this vibrant installation does more than beautify the campus. It connects students, faculty, and the community directly to mental health resources through an integrated QR code, making support as accessible as a quick scan.

This collaboration with JU reflects our shared commitment to breaking stigma and building a culture where mental wellness is prioritized. In a space training the next generation of healthcare professionals, this message couldn't be more fitting.

Mental health belongs in every conversation, especially in places dedicated to healing.

Mental health awareness is a year-round conversation -- and this Mental Health Awareness Month, we're sharing the full picture of what mental healthcare access looks like right here in Jacksonville.

The numbers are sobering. Around 17% of adults in Jacksonville report poor mental health for more than 14 days. From 2022 to 2023, there were 628 su***de deaths in Duval County. And over 60% of youth experiencing major depressive symptoms never receive care.

But behind every statistic is a person. And every person deserves a path to care.

In our latest blog, we break down the barriers that keep so many from getting help -- cost, wait times, stigma, transportation -- and share how H4M Connect is helping bridge that gap right here in Northeast Florida.

This week is National Mental Health Counseling Week, and we want to take a moment to recognize the counselors, therapists, and mental health professionals who show up every day to help people find their way through the hard stuff. πŸ’š

We also know that finding the right one can feel impossible. Long wait times, confusing insurance questions, not knowing where to start -- it stops so many people before they even begin.

That's where H4M Connect comes in. Hearts 4 Minds connects individuals and families in Northeast Florida to mental health providers, resources, and support -- for free, and regardless of your ability to pay.

You don't have to figure it out alone. We'll help you find the path forward.

: Reach for the Stars at River City Science Academy Mandarin

Our partnership with River City Science Academy continues to grow, this time at their Mandarin campus with "Reach for the Stars."

Created by artist Art by Mary Joan Hinson and made possible through the Jacksonville Public Education Fund, this space-themed mural weaves together RCSA's character values with mental health awareness. Students see it every day: aim high, dream big, and know that support is always there when you need it.

This marks another chapter in our collaboration with RCSA, building a network of visual reminders across their campuses that mental wellness is just as important as academic success. Because when students feel supported, there's no limit to what they can achieve.

Education and mental health go hand in hand, both help students reach their highest potential.

Happy Mother's Day to every mom who shows up, holds it together, falls apart, and shows up again. πŸ’š

Motherhood is one of the most beautiful and most demanding things a person can do. This Mental Health Awareness Month, we want every mom to know: taking care of yourself is part of taking care of everyone else.

You deserve support too.

Hearts 4 Minds brought to Florida Blue employees for Mental Health Awareness Month!

We even had some special guests: Scampi from the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp and Fang from the Jacksonville Icemen showed up to spread some joy and prove that mental health awareness is for everyone.

This is what the campaign is all about -- turning sidewalks into canvases, sparking conversations, and reminding people that a simple message of hope can change someone's entire day.

Grab some chalk, leave a message of hope in your neighborhood, snap a photo, and tag us with . The first 20 people to share get a promotional package from Hearts 4 Minds.
