During , we’re highlighting the connection between vision loss and mental health.

New data in AFB’s Statistical Snapshots shows that across nearly all age groups, older adults who have difficulty seeing report poorer mental health outcomes than their sighted peers. While serious psychological distress is reported more frequently among people with vision difficulty, it remains uncommon overall.

These findings highlight the importance of understanding and supporting mental health among older adults with vision loss.

Now updated with 2024 data, Statistical Snapshots also includes insights from the National Health Interview Survey on mental health and mobility among older adults with and without vision disabilities.

We had the honor of attending University of North Florida's Graphic Design Portfolio Show last Thursday at The Carling in downtown Jacksonville—and we couldn't be prouder.

Our three design interns from the program, Celina Christopher, Frankie Mount, and Alyssa Morgan, have been instrumental in defining the Eye Spy Foundation's visual identity. They've tackled internal and external design projects with creativity, care, and a deep understanding of accessibility.

It was wonderful to finally meet Professor Scaff, who leads this outstanding program at UNF. Seeing our interns present their work alongside their talented peers was a highlight.

If your organization is looking for design support, we wholeheartedly recommend these three candidates. They've already helped our mission take flight—and they can do the same for yours.
