📣Congratulations Sister Tamara Frazier who was recognized and receive a certificate for her heroic action as a school bus driver during last night's Duval County School Board Meeting. Tamara became a member of Local 512 in 2009 and is an employee of STA GSA-4.

On 8/25/2026 while enroute to pick up the students assigned to her route, Sister Frazier observed two pitbull terriers running towards two students who were walking to school. She slowed her bus to check the well-being of the students. She noticed both students appeared to be frightened. Sister Frazier observed the 2 dogs running between the students while jumping up on them. Noticing the traffic flow and concerned that the students may run into the street, Sister Frazier stopped her bus and activated her reds to stop the flow of traffic and allowed the students to board and safely transported both students to Ribault Middle School per dispatch instructions.

Teamsters 512 recognizes and congratulates Sister Frazier on her heroic actions that day and is honored to have her as a member of the Local 512 family.

On September 11, 2001, hundreds of Teamsters in New York City answered our nation's call to service. Our members in the construction trades immediately got to work cleaning up Ground Zero — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 9 months. After the debris was cleared, Teamsters stayed onsite and went to work rebuilding the World Trade Center.

Today we honor our Local 282 members who have suffered serious illness linked to their exposure at the site for their courage, patriotism, and lasting contribution they made to rebuild New York City after one of our nation’s darkest hours.
