The basic premise of Empty Bowls (an international event) is simple: Potters and other craftspeople, educators, and community members work with the community to create handcrafted bowls.

Attendees have the pleasure of selecting a bowl from hundreds of one-of-a-kind hand-crafted bowls donated by local area artists. Guests are invited to a meal of soup and bread. In exchange for a $35 (ticket bought in advance, $40 if purchased at the door) donation, guests are invited to keep a bowl of their choosing as a reminder of all the empty bowls in our community.

Thanks to all the Clayfolk potters, community members, and restaurants that make this amazing event possible!

Lily Myers Kaplan of Peace, Love, & Beauty Pottery will be exhibiting at Ashland Art Works Community Gallery for the month of July. Opening Reception will be held on 7/3 from 5-8pm.

The exhibit is titled The Earth and Her People and centers on expressing the awe Lily feels in response to the tactile beauty of the natural world. Surface designs are interpretations of the art of Indigenous cultures and her recently conceived Desert Sands Series incorporates wild materials to create a surface reminiscent of pottery drawn directly from the living earth.

You're invited to come and see Lily's work at Ashland Art Works! Congrats, Lily! 💐
