We are located at 1409 N Marine Blvd., and we are open Monday- Saturday 10am-4pm.
So are you PCSing, downsizing, or just purging? We will take those gently used household items, decorations, furniture, books, toys, and linens. We don't have the space to accept clothes, but Salvation Army does. We accept donations behind our store at the large ramp Mon-Sat 10am-3:30pm.
Shopping and donating to our store supports our Men's Reentry Transitional Housing Program, so "Thank You!" for your support!

Happy Thankful Thursday!
We are so grateful for all the blessings God gives us every day!!
Thank You Jesus for:
Giving us our name based on Your Word: Philippians 2:3-4, for that reminds us daily that it is not about us, but those around us who need Your love!
Our TH Director, for he is opening doors for us and growing our program!
Our TH Case Manager, for he is guiding our men and helping them with all their needs so they can be successful and independent!
The men in our Transitional Housing Committee, for they give of their time and talents and help in so many different ways!
First Christian Church, for the space that they have blessed us with!
For our landlords who have blessed us with an apartment for so many years, and a store that supports our ministry!
For our staff and volunteers who work hard day in and day out so our ministry succeeds!
For the men and women who serve on our Board of Directors, guiding our ministry to fulfill Your will.
For the opportunity to serve the least of these by giving them a second chance and a hand up to a new life!
For ALL the blessings You give us Lord! We see You in all the details and in our daily interactions! You created Philippians Place. You bring the men and women together to fulfill Your mission. You bring the men to us that You want us to serve, even if it's for but a moment. You give us the opportunities and wisdom to disciple, mentor, and lead Your sons to a better life in You!

It's Reentry Wednesday!
Sadly, one of our guys had to exit our program this week. Our program is structured so our guys have things to do throughout their days (Bible studies, classes, volunteering, meetings, chores, church, etc.); this keeps them focused on their long-term and short -term goals and away from things they shouldn't be doing. Our friend decided to skip his schedule and go back to friends he should be staying away from. We met with him to try to turn him back around, but he chose otherwise. Sadly, he is not the first to choose this, nor is he the last. This is the truth that we face in working with people who have addictions and a hard past. Nonetheless, the seed has been planted; he knows we care for him and that God loves him. We pray that seed will take hold and grow roots. Join us in lifting him up to God; pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to tug at his heart and that doors will be closed where he doesn't need to be, and doors will open where he needs to go.
On another note, we just accepted another gentleman into our program today. Pray for surrender and letting go to God. Pray for him to just be still and let us serve and help him.
Continue to pray for our young gentleman; he is struggling, but he made a great choice today. He chose to face his consequences and take the first step of surrendering a lot of negative influences; it will be hard, but with God, he can do it. Pray he will seek wisdom, stay away from negative influences, and be open to learning new skills.

It's a Day Late, but Not a Dollar Short!! 😂
It's Thankful Thursday On Friday because we have soooo much to be thankful for!
Our amazing friend who donated a weekend stay at her beach condo is blessing us once again! This time she is donating a different unit that has been recently renovated and for 4 nights from Thursday, September 17 through Monday, September 21st!

It may be late, but it's still Reentry Wednesday!
Why are Reentry programs/services important?
1) Cities/Communities are safer: when people receive reentry services, then they have no need to commit crimes. No crime means no victims and no police involvement.
2) They save taxpayers' money: Reentry programs reduce crimes, police involvement and recidivism. It costs approximately $55,000 per year to house a person in prison. If a person uses a Reentry program then they're more likely to succeed and become a tax-paying individual themselves.
3) Reentry programs help the local economy: because the person now has employment, they contribute to the their local economy by purchasing goods from local businesses and paying their own local, state and federal taxes.
4) Reentry programs build relationships: most offenders have burned bridges with family and friends; reentry programs work on building those back to positive relationships. This helps family members heal and future generations from making the same mistakes.
5) We all have sinned and we all deserve a second chance. Moses was a murderer who God chose to lead His people out of Egypt. King David was an adulterer and murderer who established Jerusalem and is in the lineage of Jesus. Paul violently persecuted Christians and then wrote much of the New Testament. If God can forgive and use sinful people for His glory, then we can too.
