The Refugee Immigration Project at Jax Legal Aid helps over 850 people per year with over 1,000 services on their journey to becoming Americans. The mission of Save Kara Project is to provide an ongoing solution to address the need for immigration services to the indigent immigrant community in the Jacksonville area. By spreading awareness of the need within the local immigrant community and developing solid community support of the Refugee Immigration Project, we will expand the immigration services provided to this vulnerable group. JALA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides civil legal services to low-income persons in the greater Jacksonville, Florida area. The mission of Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, Inc. is to obtain and provide high quality legal assistance to low income and other special need groups and to stimulate and empower groups of poor people to accomplish energetic and affirmative advocacy, all to alleviate the circumstances, incidents and causes of poverty.
