The Giving Closet Project

The Giving Closet Project The GCP is a 501(c)3 that provides clothing and hygiene items to students in need, elevating their self-esteem and dignity. Not just how well they do on a test.

Removing barriers to student success including bullying, chronic absenteeism, and the inability to focus in the classroom. The Giving Closet Project is just the first of many projects that will be the beginning of what public schools across the nation are in desperate need of, HOPE! It’s time for communities to awaken their hearts, and start helping the children in need where they spend the majori

ty of their time, in school. It’s time to give all children the safe haven they need and deserve, right in their own school community. The Giving Closet will not only help children build their self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-worth, but also show them that there are people who care about them and their overall well-being. While everyone around the country has been in an uproar about Common Core and the pressures of state testing, we’ve lost sight about what’s really important, shaping our future leaders of tomorrow! The well-being of the whole child needs to be a priority, and The Giving Closet will help fill many of the missing pieces. Schools need to stop thinking about their next event down the road to help children in need, but make it a part of a child’s everyday life. Making a difference and leaving lasting imprints in children’s lives, will not only shape our next generation into becoming a caring, empathetic, and a loving society again. But will get more people involved in humanitarian work within our schools each and every day to help our children in need. Thank you,
Jennifer Smith

A huge THANK YOU to the incredible team from for rolling up their sleeves and putting in the work at our Duval Hub yesterday!

We were honored to welcome store managers from Georgia and North Florida who spent the morning serving.

What makes partnerships like this so special is that they go beyond donations, they are rooted in people who genuinely care about making a difference in their communities. Your energy and teamwork were felt yesterday, thank you!

And while we can’t share all the details just yet… let’s just say there are some exciting things on the horizon. 👀 Stay tuned!

Another school year is coming to a close, and we just want to take a moment to say this:
To every student who walked through the doors this year — we see you.
To every parent doing their best — we see you.
To every teacher, counselor, volunteer, donor, and community member who showed up to support local families — thank you.
This year was filled with backpacks, hygiene kits, clothing, shoes, snacks, encouragement, tears, laughter, and so many moments that reminded us what community really means.
The Giving Closet Project was never just about “things.”
It’s about dignity. Hope. Showing students and families that they matter.
As summer begins, we hope every student feels proud of how far they’ve come this year. And to our community — thank you for helping us make sure students could walk into school feeling supported, confident, and cared for.
Have a safe, joyful summer. 💚

A huge thank you to In Jacob's Shoes for continuing to be a vital partner to our Palm Beach location! Their generous support helps restock our Hub several times each year and plays a major role in making sure every student receives a pair of quality shoes. 👟💙

Also pictured, are two amazing volunteers from The Breakers Palm Beach who helped sort and organize all the shoes. We are so grateful for the Breakers employees who volunteer regularly to help keep our closet organized and ready to serve students and families.

Thank you both for your continued support and dedication to our mission!

Some volunteers give their time. Some give their hearts.
Rhonda does both.
Week after week, Rhonda shows up consistently to serve our community — whether it’s a regular volunteer shift or jumping in to help during events when we need extra hands. Her kindness, dedication, and willingness to help never go unnoticed.
Recently, we had a student with needs we weren’t able to fully meet at the hub. Rhonda immediately made it her mission to help. She went above and beyond to fill their package with love, care, and the necessities they needed most.
That’s who Rhonda is.
Compassionate. Reliable. Selfless.
We are endlessly grateful for volunteers like her who remind us what community truly looks like. Thank you, Rhonda, for all that you do.

Palm Beach has partnered with a local middle school to help support 56 students experiencing homelessness by providing each student with three outfits for summer break.
We are grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside the school and extend a special thank you to Wajean Theus, Community Resource Liaison, for her partnership and dedication to these students and families. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in our community.
