The GCP is excited to announce that Baptist Health has made a strategic investment in our Essential Angels program, helping us respond to the growing needs of students and families throughout our community. In just one month, The Giving Closet Project has worked to fulfill several hundred referrals across a network that includes 40 Duval County Public Schools and 13 social service agencies. Our reach includes school communities such as Bayview Elementary, Englewood High School, First Coast High School, Fletcher High School, Highlands Middle School, Terry Parker High School, William Raines High School, and dozens more. A few of the agencies include Communities In Schools of Jacksonville, DanielKids, Family Promise of Jacksonville, Partnership for Child Health, Youth Crisis Center, UCOM Jax, and many others who rely on our services to provide their students and families with the resources they need.

Imagine a student who wakes up and must choose between wearing yesterday’s clothes again or staying home. Or a parent who must choose between buying groceries and purchasing hygiene essentials. These are real choices far too many families must make every day. These difficult choices result in chronic absenteeism, bullying, and youth who feel invisible. No child or teen should have to face these barriers alone.

Behind every referral submitted is a student who needs GCP’s support. With Baptist Health’s investment, the story changes: A clean uniform that fits, shoes that fit properly, a better hygiene routine because now a student can wash their body, put on deodorant, and brush their teeth. These may seem like small things, but they can make an extraordinary difference in a student’s ability to attend school, participate in class, and focus on learning.

Palm Beach Hub is grateful for our newest connection with Issabella McCarty at Palm Beach Lakes High School in The School District of Palm Beach County

Issabella McCarty runs the school’s new boutique, providing essential items and professional clothing to students in need while offering hands-on job training to their students.

We were thrilled to donate business clothing and shoes, Homecoming dresses, and brand-new suits generously provided by Soles4Souls and Coach. We’re proud to support this wonderful initiative! 👗👔

Sometimes impact isn’t about being the one who gets the credit, but about making the right connection. ❤️👟

Last week, 475 students at Pinedale Elementary School received brand-new sneakers during an incredible event made possible by Soles4Souls and generously sponsored by CSX. The Giving Closet Project was proud to play a different role in this one: connector.

When the opportunity arose, we knew exactly which school would be a great fit, and connected our longtime partner Soles4Souls with Pinedale Elementary. We had the privilege of showing up alongside their team, CSX and their amazing team of volunteers to help put those shoes directly on students’ feet. This is what meaningful partnerships are all about.

For the last six years, Soles4Souls has been an incredible partner in our work, helping provide thousands of pairs of new sneakers to students throughout the City of Jacksonville, Florida - Government. To finally work side-by-side in Jacksonville and watch 475 children walk away in a brand-new pair of shoes was something special.

We are incredibly grateful to CSX for sponsoring this event, to Soles4Souls for continuing to invest in our children, to the Pinedale Elementary team for welcoming everyone onto their campus, and to every CSX volunteer who helped make the day so memorable.

At The Giving Closet Project, we’ve learned that we don’t always have to be the provider to make an impact. Sometimes our greatest value is knowing the need, knowing our community, and bringing the right people together to meet it. This is what community impact looks like!

This is what community and meaningful partnerships look like. 💙👟💚

For years, The Giving Closet Project has partnered with Soles4Souls through their 4EveryKid program, helping distribute more than 2,500 pairs of brand-new sneakers to youth throughout DuvalSchools.

After six years of Zoom meetings, emails and phone conversations, we finally had the opportunity to meet the Soles4Souls team in person.

Together, Soles4Souls, CSX and The Giving Closet Project created an opportunity to provide Pinedale Pandas Pinedale Elementary with a lot of extra love. Because of CSX’s support of the 4EveryKid program, today every student (475 total) received a brand-new pair of sneakers. CSX not only helped make today possible, their employees showed up in force to personally serve students, help them find the perfect pair and make each child feel seen and celebrated.

Today was more than just kids getting new shoes. It was about a school community and their students knowing their community sees them, supports them and is invested in their success. This is the power of bringing the right partners to the table around a shared purpose.

Thank you, Soles4Souls and CSX for showing up and showing out today. I know the staff, students and families of Pinedale Elementary will remember this day forever. 💚
