TOMORROW IS THE DAY!

May 11th we are running it back with spaghetti, rolls & water. We will also be giving out care packages for the men & women 📍🎯

I joke, laugh & bring smiles to their faces but I also make it my business to ASK them of a few things they may need:

- men’s belts
- deodorant
- shampoo & conditioner
- mini bar soaps & body wash
- lotion
- combs
- blankets

Christmas Eve was spent with the T.K. Academy crew hitting the streets to do what we do best: Deliver Smiles 😁😄 The weather was perfect as we started our journey handing out jackets, blankets, water, smiles & even presents 🎁 🎄! Hitting our normal spots throughout downtown Jacksonville our regulars ran up to us greeting us with:
“Hey Yalllllll ☺️”
“We love youuuu 🗣”
“We missed y’all!”
And more generous positivity which always give us more strength to keep going!
Tia Bell & Tamia Craig came with enthusiasm & hearts full of love! 💙

Our first interaction was with a woman holding a sign, I rolled my window down and asked if she was hungry. She smiled & said yes, so after parking we got out & walked her way when I realized we had fed her before. Remember back in August when we posted about two sweet dogs, Huckleberry & Gunner? Well she’s Gunners mama & we got to see his handsome self as well 🐶 🐕 so it was another pleasure full day for the T.K. Academy family as always 😁☺️

40 plates of love made by Tia Bell 🙌🏾💙 She reached out to me and said she was going downtown Saturday to pass put plates, would I like to join her? Of course I SAID YES 👏🏾☺️🤗 I packed up my cooler with 70 ice cold water bottles & we hit the streets, together! Everyday is a field day for T.K. Academy. We like to reach people where they are without making them struggle to run towards us as we try to fight traffic. She had no problem parking & walking the blocks of downtown 😅

It’s always a pleasure being out in the community spreading love, happiness & helping any way we can!

Feeding the homeless community is always a choice, one that our volunteers & team here at T.K. Academy can make in our sleep. The answer will always be: YES! Thank you dearly to Erica Gayden for donating 49 bags full of goodies! Tuna salad, crackers, water, Gatorade, fruit cups, chips & fruit snacks 🥰😍🤪 To say that everyone was appreciative would be an understatement. We had 3 new adult volunteers & 2 new children this go round who wanted to come out & lend a hand 😌😎
I always love having children out to help because it brings a certain level of humbleness to their childhood. The community loves interacting with “little ones” as well. The kids were running up to us so fast to grab another bag because they spotted someone who “needed” a care package. We really didn’t have to do much work at all 🤣😂 they wouldn’t let us! THATS the spirit we love to see. & of course the community knows it’s us simply by the way we interact with them. It never fails, we hop out & begin asking: “Hey y’all, how y’all doing? We got some goodies for y’all. Oh no don’t worry about getting up! We’re coming right to YOU 🤗” However we can deliver happiness, we make it our business to do just that! Thank you to each & every one of our volunteers, T.K. Academy thrives on being a village who uplifts the community any way we can!

Nails are a major part of “Fashion!” One of our volunteers ALWAYS has amazing nails adorned with gold, her favorite style of jewelry 😌😍🥰💎

Today was a little different for T.K. Academy. We were fortunate enough to have Doug DaGreat donate some of his leftover food from “The Raw Pop Up Shop” hosted by Raw Reveal Skin Care 💙 We we’re able to stretch 24 plates filled with macaroni & cheese, jerk chicken, green beans, collard greens & Hawaiian rolls.. YUUMMMMM !! 👅 😛
For some reason our first few people that we ran into made funny faces, said they didn’t want any, asked for money or simply asked for other things such as their favorite snack. One woman actually handed me the tray back & asked for a pack of ci******es 🚬 😫 All in all, we had a great day! Accompanied by a plate of food & a bottle of water, let’s just say T.K. Academy had yet another successful day within the community 🙌🏾☺️
