The American Harbor and Docking Pilots Association regrets to share news of the passing of our founder, Captain George Moore.

Captain Moore was a docking pilot for Moran Towing in Jacksonville for 35 years, retiring in 1993. He founded this organization in 1975 as the "Atlantic and Gulf Coast Dockmasters Association," and changed it to its current name in 1999.

The AHDPA named Captain Moore as President Emeritus of the organization in 2019.

Fair winds and following seas, Captain Moore.
