🚐 Why does the Endowment Fund matter? Because the need for Dial-a-Ride is growing.

For more than 50 years, Dial-a-Ride has been more than transportation. It has been a lifeline for seniors and people with disabilities who rely on safe, reliable transportation to stay independent and connected.

Today, Dial-a-Ride provides more than 1,000 essential rides every month, helping riders get to doctor’s appointments, grocery stores, daily activities, and more.

And in the past year alone, we’ve seen a 22% increase in total rides and a 7% increase in new rides.

As our Beaches senior population continues to grow, the need for accessible transportation will continue to grow, too.

That’s why we’re building a $1 million Endowment Fund—to help ensure Dial-a-Ride remains available for the people who need it, both today and for generations to come.

Make a difference in the lives of local seniors and individuals with disabilities! As a Dial-a-Ride driver, you’ll provide safe, reliable, door-to-door transportation while helping passengers stay independent, connected and engaged in their community.

Position Details:
$15–$17/hour to start
At least two 8-hour shifts per week
One Saturday every other month

💙 What exactly is an Endowment Fund?

You may have heard us talk about the Beaches Council on Aging Endowment Fund, but what does that mean?

Unlike annual donations that are spent immediately, gifts to the Endowment Fund are invested for the future. The principal of your gift remains intact, while the earnings can help support Beaches Council on Aging programs during an economic downturn or natural disaster.

In other words, an endowment helps turn a gift made today into support that can continue helping our community for years to come.

For Dial-a-Ride, that long-term support matters. We provide more than 1,000 essential rides each month to seniors and people with disabilities, helping connect them to medical appointments, groceries, daily activities, and more.

The Endowment Fund is about making sure that support can continue for generations.

Interested in learning more about the latest research on healthy aging? 🧠

The University of Florida’s Institute for Population Health is hosting a Healthy Aging Open House on Tuesday, September 29, featuring presentations from UF researchers on the latest findings related to healthy aging and its impact on Northeast Florida residents.

It’s a great opportunity to learn more about research that may help support a longer, healthier life.
