Beaches Homeless Coalition recently partnered with North Beaches Ministries to provide emergency support for a local family in need. A divorced mother lost her home, leaving her and her three boys without housing. Two of them are in beaches schools. Our groups are not social service agencies and do not have housing or continuing subsistence to offer, but we were able to do a gift card collection, to help pay for gas, expenses, and food/clothes, while they are in transition.

Thanks to Heather (pictured) and First Baptist Atlantic Beach for stepping up and adopting the family through the month of October.

Attention: Announcing Our New Wish List!

Beaches Homeless Coalition is so grateful to our supporters, volunteers, and donors! We ❤ you! Quite simply, we could not do what we do without you!

Recently, using our nonprofit status, we created an Amazon Wish List that is helping us to build an inventory of non food items we need on a continuing basis to support our partner churches that host compassion events and cold night shelters and to support our shower truck. It helps to have consistency and eliminate waste to have uniformity with some our items, like blankets we can wash, and unused underwear, socks, and hygiene items.

We offer a shout out to Angela Nipper Snider and Melissa Daniel who are helping us get better organized and to Community Presbyterian Church for providing us space to store items.

In the Beach Gazette today…..

Beaches Homeless Coalition appreciates the opportunity to engage with city officials.

Atlantic Beach Mayor Curtis Ford proposed adding the issue to the City Commission’s Oct. 12 agenda to address questions about Jacksonville and Duval County homeless services that are not available in the Beaches communities.

Homegoing services will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at St. Andrews AME Church, 125 Ninth St. S., in Jacksonville Beach.

There is a Compassion Dinner this coming week on Thursday 9/24, with two churches partnering to serve our street friends. This is not an overnight event. It will be held at Community Presbyterian Church in Atlantic Beach with food prep and service by Ocean City Church.

There are still spots for our volunteers to sign up! We hope to see you there. Special thanks to Community Presbyterian Church and Ocean City Church!

Sad news that the beaches lost a good friend this weekend. Rest in peace, Charles E. Mincey, known affectionately as “Sleepy” and “Coach.”
God loves you, brother.
