Sharing the Lion spirit! 🦁✨
Last Friday, a few of us from the Jacksonville Beaches Lions Club visited the Jacksonville Arlington Lions Club for their Bingo Night.

Even though we didn't walk away with a big win, we had such a fun evening! 🎰

If you’re looking for a great way to spend your weekend, we highly recommend checking them out! The Arlington Lions host Bingo every Friday and Saturday. Doors open at 2:00 PM, with the fun kicking off at 5:00 PM (warm-ups) and regular games starting at 7:15 PM.

A big thank you to our friends in Arlington for their warm hospitality. We’re already looking forward to our next visit! 🤝

Big news from the Lions Club of Jacksonville Beaches! 🦁
We found out about the great work at Catty Shack Ranch (https://cattyshack.org/) and we just had to help. So, we decided to sponsor their resident, Rosa! 🐾

We thought it was a perfect match:
Now our Lions Club finally has a "Lioness" in the family. She is a very sweet girl who loves to say hello to her favorite humans. She even enjoys catnip as much as a house cat!

If you haven’t visited the ranch yet, definitely check them out. It’s a fantastic organization, and we’re proud to play a small part in keeping these beautiful animals happy and healthy.

Happy 109th Birthday, Lions Clubs International! 🦁🎉

Today, we join Lions around the globe in celebrating 109 years of service, kindness, and community impact. Since 1917, our organization has been dedicated to making a difference, one community at a time.

Here at the Jacksonville Beaches Lions Club, we are so proud to be part of this incredible organization. Whether we’re organizing local events or helping those in need, we live by our motto: "We Serve."

A day of learning and connection! 🦁
Our President Linda Zepp and our Marketing Officer Monika Keuchel had a good time attending today's officer training session.

It was a very insightful seminar, and we are returning with some fresh ideas for our club!

A huge thank you to the Orange Park Lions Club for hosting us and for their wonderful hospitality. And a huge thank you to all speakers – we really appreciate your time and input.

It was a pleasure to catch up with familiar faces from the convention and to share this experience with our fellow Lions.

💛 A great night at the Eye Spy Foundation Summer Social!
We had a wonderful time hosting the Eye Spy Summer Social at our club this week.
It was a relaxed evening with BBQ, mocktails, and fun games for the blind and low vision community.
A big thank you to Nick Mendler and Meredyth Mason for organizing everything!
We also want to thank our amazing Lions members who helped out: Deedee , Shawn, Tricia, Judy, Cindy, Pat, Sue and our new member Linda at her first volunteering activity 🦁

Thank you all for your hard work and for being there to support our community.

It was great to see everyone connecting and having a good time. We are already looking forward to the next event!

Remembering Helen Keller – A Champion of Hope 🕊️

Today, June 1st, Lions Clubs around the world pause to honor a true hero: Helen Keller.
You might see some calendars marking Helen Keller Day on June 27th (her birthday), while we Lions observe it today, June 1st.
Why the discrepancy? While June 27th celebrates her birth, we honor her today as a tribute to her legacy of service and the day she passed away. For the Lions family, it’s not just about the date on the calendar—it’s about the spirit of advocacy she ignited within our movement.

Why are the Lions so connected to Helen Keller? 🦁
Our bond goes back to 1925 at the Lions Clubs International Convention. Helen Keller challenged us to become the "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness."
Since that day, her vision has been the heartbeat of our commitment to sight programs.

As announced in yesterday’s post, we had a second guest at our Jacksonville Beaches Lions Club meeting this week! 🦁

It was a pleasure to welcome fellow Lion Melanie Trewyn from the Fort Pierce Club. 🦁

Melanie is a teacher and works with "Irlen," a method that uses color to help people who have trouble with visual processing and reading. It was really interesting to learn how much of a difference this can make in someone's daily life.

Beyond her work, it was great to hear about the passion she puts into her projects and her dedication to the Lions. Thank you for visiting us, Melanie - we loved having a fellow Lion share her story with us! 💙💛

We had a fantastic time at our Jacksonville Beaches Lions Club meeting this week, featuring two very special guest speakers! 🦁

First, a big thank you to Ansh Grover, the clinic owner of Ellie Mental Health- Ponte Vedra, FL for joining us.
Ansh shared the mission behind Ellie Mental Health, focusing on their dedication to making mental health services more accessible, breaking down stigmas, and providing creative, personalized solutions for our community.
