We’re at 98 members.

That means we’re just TWO people away from 100 active members giving together each quarter.

Two more people means another $200 for the next local nonprofit our members choose. And once we reach 100, every additional member makes that impact even bigger.

That’s the whole idea behind Jackson 100 For Good: one person gives $100, another does the same, and together those simple gifts become thousands of dollars staying right here in our community.

Jackson 100 For Good by the numbers as of October 12! ❤️

What began as a simple idea—neighbors coming together to do good—has grown into something wonderful for Jackson County. In just nine months, Jackson 100 For Good has welcomed 98 committed members and collected $24,525 for local nonprofits. Each contribution is part of a larger gift, made possible by people who care about the place we call home. ❤

That total includes $7,100 for Southern Hills Arts Council, with donations still coming in. We now have 16 nonprofits pre-qualified for consideration, and 797 Facebook followers helping our story reach more neighbors.

With 29 days until our fourth meeting, we’re taking a moment to appreciate how far we’ve come—and all the people who have helped us get here.

It’s because of the generosity of so many in our community, including our members who are supporting the Southern Hills Arts Council as our most recent Impact Award recipient, that the Markay is able to offer such great opportunities for local kids interested in theater. Thank you!

We’re excited to bring Cinderella Youth Edition to the stage and invite performers ages 8–18 to audition.
Auditions for younger students will be posted soon!

Auditions will be held October 12,14, & 15, between 4:30–8:00 PM at the Markay Theatre in Jackson. Please register using the link below, and select every audition date that works for you. We’ll follow up with your assigned time and audition sides.

Performances are scheduled for January 29–31, 2027. We may add an additional weekend show for a second cast, depending on audition results.

One of our favorite things about checking the mail is finding a handwritten note tucked in with a member’s contribution.

The checks matter, of course — but those little notes mean a lot, too.

We’re incredibly grateful for our members, not just for their generosity, but for the kindness and encouragement they continue to send our way. It’s a good reminder that Jackson 100 For Good is about more than money. It’s about people choosing to do something good together.

Sami braved the closed streets and Jackson Apple Festival traffic to make her way to the post office — and came out with checks from Rebecca Waigand with Oths, Heiser, Miller, Waigand & Clagg LLC and Laura Fain with the Jackson Banking Center of Vinton County National Bank - VCNB.

Every envelope gets us a little closer to the full Q3 Impact Award for the Southern Hills Arts Council selected by our members at the last meeting.

If you’re heading into town for the Apple Festival this week and still need to make your Q3 contribution, you can drop off a check while you’re out:

Thank you, The Telegram News, for helping us get our message out!

We are a group of people who believe that by giving small gifts together, we can make a huge impact. And we are!

The concept is simple: 100 people come together four times a year and agree to give $100 each quarter. A $100 gift from one person becomes a $10,000 impact when 100 people do it together — and the more members we have, the bigger that impact can be.

And really, it’s even simpler than that.

You don’t have to attend a meeting. You don’t have to serve on a committee. You don’t have to fundraise or volunteer. You simply agree to give $100 four times a year.

Members nominate local nonprofits. At each quarterly meeting, three eligible nonprofits are randomly selected, members hear about each one, and those in attendance vote on which organization will receive that quarter’s Impact Award.

Then everyone sends in their $100 contribution, and 100% of the money raised goes to the nonprofit selected by our members.

It’s intentionally simple — because life is busy enough.
