September 3 He knows our thoughts!

Matthew 9:3-4
At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, "This fellow is blaspheming!" (4) Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, "Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts?"

THOUGHT: Imagine thinking Jesus Christ was blaspheming! First off, He knew their thoughts, just like He knows yours and mine. That's how He could ask them about entertaining such thoughts. Jesus didn't condemn them, He loved them.
In John, chapter 3, one of the teachers named Nicodemus came to Jesus asking how to be born-again. Jesus, in a loving way, shared with him. No matter what you have done in the past, no matter what "evil thoughts" you might entertain, Jesus loves you so much he died for you! All you need to do is realize your lost and helpless condition, repent of your sins, asking Jesus to forgive you and come into your heart, and He will!!

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me even though I don't deserve it. Thanks for forgiving me of all my sins! In Jesus' name. AMEN

09/02 God has a plan!

John 9:2
And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.

THOUGHT:
One of the most asked questions is; “why do bad things happen to good people?” About the best answer I know is to refer to Isaiah 55:9 where the Bible says; “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are my ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. “ God has a plan, and His plan is always bigger and better than ours, but when the Disciples saw the blind man they, like us, wanted a logical answer figuring that he or his parents must have sinned to cause the blindness. A lot of times problem arise because of human error. That is, we fail to follow the leading of The Holy Spirit and we get into trouble that God never wanted to happen to us. Remember also, Romans 8:28 promises He will cause all things to work out for our good, if we love Him and follow His commands.
So, for those seemingly unanswered questions, always refer to the Bible, in it you will find the strength to walk through the valleys of life. Let’s follow His plan for our lives.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, Thank you for giving us your Word, because in it there is the strength and direction for my life. Give me the wisdom to trust in you when I can’t seem to understand what’s going on, in Jesus name, Amen!

09/01 TRAINING

It seems we’re in training from birth until death, as a former office worker, Keith Folds once said, “we’re a work in progress.” I tend to agree with that evaluation because from school there’s college or technical school, learning a vocation, then on the job training for that job. Living the Christian life is no different because becoming born again indicates starting over, and a person does that spiritually.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” Spiritually, all things have become new at the point one truly repents to Jesus, but the flesh still has to be dealt with, and that’s where the training comes in. Romans 12:2 says: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” To live a successful Christian life, one must submit to God’s directions in the Bible, allowing the Bible to renew our mind, our way of thinking, by hearing it, (Romans 10:17).
2 Corinthians 6:17 teaches us that there will need to be some changes in our habits in order to please God. Paul teaches the church at Corinth; “Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” It doesn’t mean we are to quit loving those who aren’t yet born again, but we need to change some of the places we hang out, get solid in our walk with God lest we be dragged back into a sinful lifestyle.
Did you get into training after accepting Jesus as your Saviour, by regularly studying the Word? If not, back up and putt. Repent of any sins that may have pulled you away, and start each day with reading the Bible out loud, starting in the book of John, (fourth book from the front of the New Testament.) Get into training, God has a calling on your life and a job for you to do. Free Bible courses are available through our ministry to all Truck Drivers and their immediate families.

08/31 BOW DOWN

Psalm 95:6-7
Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice:
Bow down, now there’s a phrase that some have great difficulty with, like the word submit, but if we’re to live in God’s blessings, which I certainly want to do, I must submit to His leading, and as the Psalmist put it, bow down before Him in praise and adoration. I’ve found that if I spend more time thanking Him for what I have, I have less time to complain about what I don’t have.
One of the first major steps in being a follower of Jesus is learning that, as John put it, “I must decrease, He must increase.” And learning to pray, from my heart, as Jesus prayed in the Garden, “not my will, but your will be done.” With so much to thank Him for, I try to spend time each morning bowing down thanking Him for salvation, my life, my family and so much more, that gets me in an attitude of praise and causes my day to go a whole lot better.
