Today is National Gun Violence Awareness Day.

Gun violence continues to impact families and communities across Kentucky every single day. According to recent data, Kentucky ranks among the states with some of the highest firearm death rates in the country, and fi****ms remain a leading cause of death for young people.

Awareness, prevention, education, and safe storage save lives. Even small steps can make a difference.

The RPC currently has a limited number of free gun locks available for anyone who may need one. If you or someone you know could benefit from a gun lock for safer firearm storage, please reach out.

Let’s continue working toward safer homes, safer communities, and fewer lives lost to gun violence.

Today is World Narcissistic Abuse Awareness Day.

Narcissistic abuse can be difficult to recognize because it often begins subtly through manipulation, control, and emotional harm. Some common traits associated with narcissistic behavior may include:

• Gaslighting and making others question their reality
• Lack of empathy
• Constant need for attention or validation
• Manipulation and guilt-tripping
• Controlling behaviors
• Blaming others and refusing accountability
• Love bombing followed by emotional withdrawal
• Excessive criticism, jealousy, or possessiveness

These patterns can leave deep emotional and psychological effects on survivors. Raising awareness helps people recognize unhealthy dynamics, seek support, and understand that emotional abuse should never be normalized.

Let’s continue encouraging healing, healthy boundaries, accountability, and compassion for those impacted.

Remove the Risk KY

Small actions can save lives.

Whether it’s locking up medications, safely storing fi****ms, or properly disposing of unused prescriptions—reducing risk at home protects the people we love most.

In Kentucky, too many preventable injuries and overdoses start with easy access.

Let’s change that.

✔ Lock it up
✔ Store it safely
✔ Dispose of it properly

Because prevention starts at home—and one simple step can make all the difference.

Today is the International Day of Action for Women’s Health 💜

Women’s health is not a privilege—it’s a right.

Around the world, millions of women still face barriers to:
• Quality healthcare
• Reproductive rights
• Mental health support
• Safe and respectful treatment

Today is about more than awareness—it’s about action.

Listen to women.
Support women.
Advocate for access, equity, and care for all.

Because when women’s health is prioritized, communities are stronger, families are healthier, and futures are brighter.

Your voice matters. Use it. 💜

Today is National Wear Gray Day.

Gray represents more than a color—it’s a symbol of strength, support, and standing together in the fight against brain cancer.

Wearing gray today is a simple way to show:
• You care
• You support those battling
• You honor the lives affected

It’s also a reminder that behind every diagnosis is a person, a family, a story that matters.

So wear gray, share the message, and stand in solidarity.

Because awareness leads to research.
Research leads to hope. 💛

It’s okay to be different.
It’s okay to not be okay.

You don’t have to have everything figured out.
You don’t have to fit into anyone else’s idea of “normal.”

Some days are heavier than others—and that doesn’t make you weak, it makes you human.

Give yourself the same kindness you give everyone else.
Take things one moment at a time.

You are allowed to grow, to heal, to rest…
and to be exactly who you are in the process.

You’re not alone—even when it feels like it. 💛

Today we remember.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend—it’s a time to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice is the reason we have the freedoms we often take for granted.

As you spend time with family, enjoy the sunshine, or gather with friends, take a moment to pause…
to reflect…
and to remember those who never made it home.

Because of them, we can.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Today is International Missing Children’s Day 💛

Every year, thousands of children go missing around the world—each one a face, a name, a story that matters.

This day is about:
• Raising awareness
• Supporting families who are still searching
• Honoring the children who haven’t been found
• Strengthening efforts to keep kids safe

Behind every statistic is a family holding onto hope.

Take a moment today to learn, share, and stay aware. Even something small—like spreading the word—can make a difference.

If you see something, say something. Awareness saves lives.
