Widening 22 and building a proposed Tribal Trail Connector would spill pavement onto a fen, a rare wetland that took thousands of years to create. The pavement runoff would endanger the fen's ability to foster diverse species of wildlife and capturing carbon to purify the environment.

Pavement walls off wildlife from the food and water they depend on to survive. On average, more than 500 animals are killed annually in vehicle collisions in Teton County, WY, according to the town of Jackson.

That number is bound to increase if we expand WY 22, inviting more cars, traffic and more wildlife collisions.

Access to open spaces and wildlife is the backbone of our identity and economy. Why sacrifice what makes this community so special for a short-term traffic fix that science shows won't work?
