Hinds County Sheriff’s Office to Unveil Monument Honoring Fallen Deputies
The Hinds County Sheriff’s Office will host a Fallen Deputies & Jailers Monument Unveiling Ceremony on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 10:00 am at the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office headquarters located at 407 E. Pascagoula Street in Jackson.
The ceremony will honor the lives, service, and sacrifice of deputies and jailers who gave their lives in the line of duty while serving the citizens of Hinds County. The monument will stand as a lasting tribute to their courage, dedication, and commitment to protecting the community.
The event is free and open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend as the Sheriff’s Office gathers with families of the fallen and public safety partners to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Due to the ceremony, Tombigbee Street will be temporarily closed from 7:00 am until approximately 11:00 am at the following intersections:
State Street and Tombigbee Street
Congress Street and Tombigbee Street
President Street and Tombigbee Street
