2026 Cape County 4-H Senior Spotlight: Maria Miller

After 11 years in 4-H, Maria is wrapping up an incredible journey filled with leadership, friendships, and lots of memories! Over the years, she has been involved in the Tilsit 4-H Club, Collaborative Minds Club, and Cape County Junior Leaders.

This fall, Maria plans to attend Southeast Missouri State University to pursue a degree in Communication Disorders and work toward becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist.

During her time in 4-H, Maria served as Club President for 2 years and also held the role of Treasurer. Her favorite part of 4-H was attending summer camps and later getting the chance to come back as a counselor for the Junior Leaders Clover Kid Camps.

Maria has made so many great memories through 4-H, and we are excited to see all she accomplishes next.

4-H Camp registration has been extended through May 8th!

Cape Girardeau County 4-H members ages 8-13 are invited to join our “Christmas in June” camp, hosted by our very own Junior Leaders and the Christmas Crew.

- Cost: $100 ($50 covered by the Cape Girardeau County 4-H Council)
- Transportation is provided to and from the Cape Girardeau County Extension Office

Spots are limited! Don’t wait until it’s too late!

Who says you have to wait until December for Christmas?

This summer, Cape County 4-H is bringing the holiday spirit to camp with “Christmas in June,” happening June 19th–21st! Cape Girardeau County 4-H members ages 8–13 are invited to join the Junior Leaders and Christmas Crew for a few fun-filled days of cool activities, new friendships, and outdoor adventures.

Registration is due by May 4th!

Camp Details:
- Camp cost is $100 ($50 covered by the Cape Girardeau County 4-H Council)
- Transportation is provided to and from the Cape Girardeau County Extension Office

Spots are limited, so be sure to sign up soon!

This year’s “Christmas in June” will be held June 19th–21st. Open to Cape Girardeau County 4-H members ages 8–13, this is a great opportunity to make new friends, try hands-on activities, and enjoy the outdoors.

Congratulations to our talented local artists!

We are proud to announce that ALL entries in the 2026 Southeast Missouri 4-H Regional Art Contest County Showing have been placed within their grade groups, and ALL participants will be advancing to the Regional Exhibit in Poplar Bluff!

Ribbons and certificates are ready for pickup at the MU Extension in Cape Girardeau County. We will take care of transporting all artwork to the Regional Exhibit.

The Regional Exhibit will be held on April 28th at the Margaret Harwell Art Museum in Poplar Bluff, featuring Best of Show and top winners from each county, followed by an ice cream social.

Thank you again, we can’t wait to see your artwork on display in Poplar Bluff!

LAST CHANCE TO CAST YOUR VOTE!

Today is the FINAL day to stop by the MU Extension in Cape Girardeau County and vote for your favorite piece in the 2026 Southeast Missouri 4-H Regional Art Contest, County Showing, for the People’s Choice Award!

Voting is open until 4:30 PM, so be sure to swing by before then and support our talented artists!

First, Second, and Third place winners per grade level, along with Best of Show, will move on to the Regional Showcase at the Margaret Harwell Art Museum in Poplar Bluff on April 28th, followed by a fun ice cream social!

All members are welcome to pick up their pieces and see if they advanced on April 13th, from 8am - 4:30pm!
