We had a great time at our recent luncheon held on March 18 at the Capital Club in Jackson, MS, where we gathered for an engaging discussion on MS Income Tax Legislative Updates.

A special thank you to our guest speaker, Ciera Hill of the MS Department of Revenue, for providing valuable insight into current legislative changes and what they mean for professionals across the state. Today’s luncheon was both informative and engaging!

Our featured topic was “Cybersecurity: Contemporary Attack Methods; How Cyber Aware Accounting Procedures Protect Assets.” With cyber threats growing more sophisticated every day, this discussion was right on time.

Steve Given, CRISC, serves as Chief Information Security Officer and Director of Security, Risk & Compliance Services at Pileum Corporation. On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, we held our monthly luncheon — The topic of discussion was Strategic Procurement Modernization, presented by our distinguished guest speaker, Dr. Dorthy Young, PhD, MHSA, CMPA of the Mississippi State Department of Health.

Dr. Young brought a wealth of knowledge and experience, sharing valuable insights on innovation, healthcare policy, and modernization strategies. Her impressive background includes leadership roles at the Mississippi Division of Medicaid, the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and now at MSDH, along with serving as adjunct faculty at both UMMC and Xavier University of Louisiana.

We thank Dr. Young for an engaging and thought-provoking presentation, and we thank everyone who attended for making this luncheon another successful event. 💼✨

🌟 May Monthly Luncheon Recap 🌟

We had a fantastic turnout at our May Monthly Luncheon held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025!

Our guest speaker, Jennifer Wentworth, Chief of Staff for the Mississippi Division of Medicaid, delivered an insightful presentation on the State Budget Development Processes at DOM. She shared her extensive knowledge and experience in public finance, providing attendees with a deeper understanding of the inner workings of the budget process and how it impacts state agencies.

Ms. Wentworth also highlighted her journey from serving as Chief Financial Officer at Medicaid (2018–2024) to her current leadership role, which oversees finance, procurement, managed care, and more. Her background at the Mississippi Department of Revenue and her achievements, including earning the Certified Governmental Financial Manager designation, truly inspired our audience.
