On May 20th, we opened our hearts and our doors for the Wildland Firefighter Foundation's annual Family Day!
We created Family Day weekend to honor the memory of our fallen heroes, provide support to their loved ones, and to celebrate the unyielding spirit of the wildland firefighting community. This year, we greeted another record number of families that joined us in remembrance, connection, and shared resilience.
While on this day we reflected on the sacrifices made by our wildland firefighters, this was also a day of joy, camaraderie, and strength. A day to see old friends, and make new ones. A day to share stories, laughter, and maybe a few tears.
We want to say thank you to all of the families who participated this year in helping us remember your loved ones. We know being a part of our family is a result of tragedy, but we're sure grateful to have you.
A huge shout out to all of the volunteers that helped make Family Day weekend possible, as well as the USFS & BIA Honor Guard. It is the busiest time of the year for us staff, and we couldn't be more thankful for your support!
