Another Great Training Class in the Books!

What an amazing day of learning, growth, and connection at our latest A Hero's Best Friend dog training class! We loved seeing our participants and their dogs working together, building stronger bonds, improving communication, and gaining valuable skills that help create confident, well-behaved companions.

Dog training isn't just about teaching commands, it's about building trust, reducing stress, increasing confidence, and strengthening the relationship between you and your four-legged partner. Every class is a step toward a happier, healthier life together.

At A Hero's Best Friend, we are proud to sponsor these training classes for qualified veterans and first responders, helping them and their dogs develop the skills needed for a successful partnership.

Whether you're welcoming a new dog into your home or looking to strengthen the bond with your current companion, training provides lifelong benefits for both ends of the leash.
If you're searching for a new best friend, we can help match you with the perfect shelter dog. There are so many wonderful dogs waiting for loving homes at the Amador County Animal Shelter, and we'd love to help you find the right fit for your lifestyle, needs, and goals.

A huge thank you to everyone who's attending and putting in the work with their pups. We are so proud of your progress!

Please like, comment, and share this post to help us reach more heroes who could benefit from this program.

Together, we're changing lives, one hero and one dog at a time.

You Don't Have to Carry It Alone. ❤️🐾

Long shifts. Difficult calls. Memories that stay with you.

A dog won't ask questions about your day. They won't judge your past. They won't need explanations. They'll simply be there offering loyalty, companionship, purpose, and unconditional support.

At A Hero's Best Friend, we believe that every hero deserves a loyal companion. Our mission is to help veterans, first responders, and their families find the right rescue dog to become a trusted friend, adventure partner, and source of comfort through life's challenges.

Whether you're looking for a walking buddy, a couch companion, or simply a reason to smile when you walk through the door, the bond between a person and a rescue dog can be life changing for both.

Because sometimes the best therapy has four legs.

🐾Every rescue dog deserves a second chance.
❤️Every hero deserves a best friend.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It’s a reminder of the courage, service, and selflessness of those who gave everything for the freedoms we have today.

At A Hero’s Best Friend, we are proud to support veterans, first responders, and their families, and today, we hold space for the heroes who are no longer with us.

May we never forget their sacrifice, and may we continue to care for those who carry the weight of service every day.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

Our next Veteran & First Responder dog training class begins June 5th!

If you’ve been thinking about joining, this is your sign. These classes are focused on obedience, teamwork, confidence, and building a stronger connection between you and your dog, all in a welcoming and supportive environment.

In addition to this upcoming session, veterans and first responders are always welcome to attend any of Tim’s group classes, sponsored by A Hero’s Best Friend. We simply ask that you text Tim ahead of time before attending.

And even if you don’t currently have a dog in training, but could use some time around good people and great dogs — you are welcome here too

As this current class session comes to an end, we just want to say how incredibly proud we are of everyone who showed up, put in the work, and built stronger bonds with their dogs over these past weeks.

What started as obedience and teamwork training quickly became so much more — confidence, connection, encouragement, and community.
Watching veterans, first responders, and their families grow alongside their canine companions has been truly special.🐾❤️

Thank you to everyone who participated, supported, shared our posts, and helped make this program possible.

The impact of these classes goes far beyond the training field, and we’re so grateful to be part of it.

We received the sweetest message from Marley’s new mama, and we just had to share it with all of you.

"Everything is going so well!
Marley is adjusting to our lifestyle very well.
She is a fast learner and seems to love us very, very much. I do not even kennel her at night. Now she stays right beside our bed on her pillow and sleeps all night. She has had no accidents. We are very happy with her.
Thank you for your great training.”

Stories like this are exactly why rescue matters.

From rescued🐕… to loved❤️… to HOME. 🏠

Thank you to everyone who shares, supports, fosters, adopts, and helps make happy endings like Marley’s possible.

Marlee girl is officially HOMEBOUND! 🏡🐕

From kennel days to couch cuddles, she made it. 💕

We truly couldn't have done this without YOU. Every share, every tag, and every bit of love helped her story reach the right person.

This is what community looks like, and because of it, Marlee gets her happy ending. ❤️🐾
