Just came back from the Briarwood Arts Center where I met the owner, Stephen Brown, to discuss the Briarwood Arts Center 2nd Birthday Bash which takes place tomorrow, September 8th and I am... SUPER EXCITED!!!!

There's going to be a... Dunk Tank... Jewelry Making... Face Painting... Snakes and other Reptiles... Food Trucks... Music... Art Exhibits... an Adult Lounge... Games... Interactive Activities... and so much more, including... ADULT BIG WHEEL RACES!!!

The Briarwood Arts Center also has Clothing Donation Drop Boxes, so if you have any gently worn clothing to donate, please bring it with you!

👉 Sign up and practice for the Adult Big Wheel Races will start at 3pm with the races beginning at 4pm. Spaces for the races are limited, so don't miss out! (Btw, we will be making a video of the races for future use)

🥏📣📢Community work day next Saturday, September 14th, at Livingston Park!

As you may have heard, there's a new disc golf course coming to Livingston Park (by the Jackson Zoo). It will be installed this month by Between the Pines Disc Supply LLC.

This year, we've been working with Between the Pines, the City's Parks and Rec Department, Americorps members, and neighborhood residents to prepare the park for the course. There are a few finishing touches needed before the baskets and tee pads can be installed.

Why should you come out and help at this work day?

1. You'll get to learn about disc golf, how courses are designed and built, and how to prepare a space for a course.
2. Years from now, when the course is established and hosting annual regional disc golf tournaments, you'll get to say, "I helped build that course!"
3. This is a great way to meet people from all over the city.
4. Being in nature and working with your hands is fun!
5. Our city parks need community support to thrive. If you invest in a park, you're investment will pay off with interest!
6. Pizza!
