Our Creative Grants programs providing valuable support to neighborhood associations, emerging artists, community leaders, and major arts providers like our museums, symphony, opera, ballets, and theater companies.
GJAC is a private non-profit that strives to enrich and enliven the City With Soul by securing national grants for important city projects, our arts advocacy initiatives that can influence policy on cultural tourism, and our public art initiatives that make our city more dynamic and attractive to citizens, visitors and businesses.
Since the agency's inception, we have dispersed more than $4 million throughout the Jackson area to support cultural projects in all disciplines. We typically issue 80-100 grants per year. Please check our website for more info on each type of grant and for what time of year we accept applications for each.
Through our Music First sponsorships and programs, we produce a series of seasonal outdoor concerts such as High Note Jam, that offers paid gigs for local musicians, and special musician-focused programs like our Sing Your Song songwriting showcase.
