It was brought to my attention that there is someone going around Jackson getting donations for our program. we are not asking anyone to go around asking for donations. So if you see anyone please do not donate to them.

Thanks to so many donations we were able to distribute 212 backpacks Friday! We know the rain held attendance down but are happy we were able to help those who came!

Please note that we have been overwhelmed with calls and messages about adding kids to the program. We want to help everyone who needs us, but please understand that at this time staff are working from home and are not here in our office to talk to you. We are checking voicemails daily. Please call 740.286.4918 and LEAVE a message with your name, kids names and ages and school, and WHICH SCHOOL LUNCH DISTRIBUTION SITE you will be going to to pick up your kids' lunches on Friday..That is where/when we distribute the bags. We need to have this information by noon Thursday to have your bag ready for this Friday. We will NOT be calling you back unless we have a question. We just don't have the human resources to do that right now. If you leave a message we will get your family's food bag ready and you can sign your form when you pick up your bag at the site where you tell us you will be. Thank you for your consideration and support as we make every effort to have enough food for all who need it.

Update on Jackson Ironkids Weekend Food Bag distribution. Distributions will begin Friday at the seven sites where Jackson City Schools will be distributing their meals. Hope Haven and Head Start families will be contacted separately for arrangements. Calls to participating City School families started today and will continue to be made tomorrow to everyone currently enrolled in the program, to determine which site we need to take your kids bags to. If you have not received a call from us front us or if you plan to pick up meals for your child and are not enrolled in the program and want to be, please contact us at 740-286-4918 and leave a message. You will receive a return call within 24 business hours. Due to the existing COVID-19 emergency, COAD/RSVP of the Ohio Valley offices are closed until further notice however we will be monitoring the phones and the Ironkids program will continue during this time.
To all the amazing people who have donated on the Jackson ironkids page we thank you from the bottom of our heart for making it possible for us to do this expanded distribution during this emergency. I absolutely will be reaching out to each of you personally to thank you once things settle down a bit as right now we have just been focused on trying to purchase items from nearly empty store shelves to fill the bags and get everyone contacted so that we can implement this beginning this Friday.
Thanks to the Jackson City schools and superintendent Phil Howard for helping us get this plan operational and my amazing staff and volunteers and partner organizations! And to
Rainey Stepp Kimberly Hopper Diana Adkins.Krystal Wilson Tammy Sigman Brandon Sigman thank you for your untiring efforts which make this possible!

A beautiful song written and performed by a group of vocal recording artists including Jackson's own Jaime Manring in recognition of the services of volunteers from RSVP of the Ohio Valley and their work helping those less fortunate, particularly the children. How amazing and touching!!! Take a listen!

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Some of Ohio's most vulnerable children have not had empty bellies this summer, as a result of some innovative programs. The federally-funded Summer Food Service Program is unable to meet the needs of all children who receive free and reduced-priced meals during the school year. So,…

Free Lunch for Kids was AWESOME today! Lunch was tacos-in-a-bag, and fresh cantaloupe. The kids got to make up their own tacos using fresh lettuce, onions, and tomatoes. They had so much fun, and we fed 125 children! Woohoo! The menus for the rest of the week are gonna be yummy too. Tomorrow is nachos-and-cheese and oranges; Thursday is Pizza Day!, and Friday is going to be smoked-sausage and baked potato-rounds with parmesan cheese. Come to one of our sites at Northview Elementary School Westview Elementary School, Eddie Jones Park, or Hillcrest Pool. Next week we hope to have our site at Faith Ministry Center open also. Lunch is served 11:30-12:30 Monday-Friday to any child 18 and younger.
