Please note that you only need to attend the events in person if you need assistance or help filling out the application. We would also recommend filling it out in person if you have a larger family as the form can be taxing for multiple kids.

If you do not need assistance and had no negative experiences with filling out the form last year, we would recommend that you wait until the online form releases, allowing those who need tech assistance to receive help in person.

Both in-person and online forms are accepted in the same manner. Proof of residency for Jackson County is required.

Can you believe it’s already August? As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to share some important updates that will affect how we collect information and conduct outreach within the community.

Shifting Gears for Christmas Cheer, a program of the 501c3, Gear Grinders announces the following updates to the Shifting Gears for Christmas Cheer Enrollment Process.

1. In-Person and School-Based Forms
Beginning this month, all enrollment and outreach forms must be completed in person or through designated school-based events. This shift is part of a broader effort to strengthen the accuracy and integrity of our records.

2. Requirement of proof of residency at the start.

These changes are designed to:

Prevent Duplicate Records: Ensuring each child is counted only once improves the reliability of our data and better supports service planning.

Protect the Integrity of Outreach: By limiting form distribution to controlled environments, we reduce the risk of misuse and ensure that our programs remain equitable and accessible to all who qualify.

We remain committed to serving our families with transparency and care. Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding as we implement these important improvements.

🎄✨ Dear Gear Grinders Community,

First and foremost we want to extend our sincerest thank you to those who helped provide gifts for the children enrolled in our program! We had many unique and thoughtful gifts come in that we are sure will put the biggest smile on a child’s face for Christmas!

As our Christmas assistance program has now concluded, our volunteers will not be answering emails, comments, or messages until after the Christmas holiday so that they may spend time with their families.

Our team has worked diligently to send email notifications, Facebook messages, phone call reminders, and follow-up calls over the last week of our program to ensure there were ample opportunities for pick ups!

Thank you all for your patience and understanding!

We are actively checking messages and doing our best to assist anyone who has reached out or anyone we noted missed a package during pick up last night!

We are so very thankful for our amazing community members, businesses, and local volunteers! This program would not exist without you- literally!

Our Christmas assistance is 100% community funded! How amazing it is to know that we have so many generous hearts willing to share in the spirit of giving!
