October is National Pit Bull Awareness Month, and Bitty, Diesel, and Rex are three very good reasons to get to know the dog before the label. 🐶💜

All three are big on people, big on affection, and very committed to the full-body wiggle greeting. But beyond that, they each have their own personality, favorite things, and way of connecting with people.

Come spend some time with them, ask questions, and let our staff help you get to know who they really are.

How the heck has this ham of a dog still not found a home yet?! 😂🐶

Duke is seriously one of those dogs who makes you wonder how he’s still waiting. He’s goofy, lovable, full of personality, and very good at making himself the center of attention.

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to come meet him, this is it.

Happy Friday from PAWS! 🐾💜

We’re ending the week with one of our favorite kinds of posts: recent adoptions!

A huge congratulations to all of these animals and their new families. We love seeing pets head out the door and into homes of their own.

Here’s to new routines, new favorite spots, and lots of happy days ahead. 🐶🐱

Have you signed up for Adventure Buddies yet? 🐶🥾

If not, there’s still time! Starting today through Sunday, you can give a PAWS shelter dog a break from the shelter and take them along for a day of exploring.

Go for a hike, hit a trail, take a scenic drive, hang out at the park, or just spend the day together. We’ll help pair you with a dog based on availability and what works best for your plans.

Sign up through the PAWS volunteer website and make a shelter dog’s weekend a little more adventurous! https://paws.galaxydigital.com/

🐾 Fun fact Friday! 🐾

Spending time with our pets can actually help us feel less stressed. Petting, playing with, or simply sitting beside an animal can help lower cortisol, one of the hormones our bodies release when we’re stressed.

With World Mental Health Day tomorrow, here’s a little reminder that sometimes four paws, a wagging tail, or a purring cat can make a hard day feel a little lighter. 💜🐶🐱

Meet Rex! 🐾

💕 The sweetest boy with so much love to give
🧸 Playful, goofy, and full of personality
☀️ Loves a good nap in the sunshine
👃 Enjoys sniffing out treats and exploring
🤗 Always happy for cuddles and butt scratches

Rex is a handsome grey and white pittie with a big heart and a wonderfully goofy side. He has been winning over our staff with his sweet nature, playful zoomies, and enthusiasm for spending time together. Whether he is playing with toys, sniffing out hidden treats, or leaning into a good scratch, this boy makes ordinary moments feel special.

His idea of a lovely day includes a walk with plenty of sniffing stops, some fun with his favorite people, and a long nap in the sunshine. He enjoys keeping us company during office time, soaking up affection, and taking a break with a tasty peanut butter treat. There is plenty of playful energy here, along with a very soft spot for cuddles.

Rex is looking for someone to share both the fun and the quiet moments. If you have room in your life for a sweet, silly companion who will give you plenty of reasons to smile, come meet our lovable Rex!

Furry Bellies recently hosted a raffle with proceeds benefiting PAWS, and we are so grateful for their continued support of our shelter and the animals in our care.

If you’re in Driggs, be sure to stop by and show them some love. They have pup cups for your four-legged shopping buddy, plus plenty of pet supplies, treats, and goodies to browse.

Meet Zeus! 🐾

🤍 Beautiful coat
🐾 One of Mama Hera’s five kittens
🎾 Growing up with a playful litter

Zeus is a mighty name for a kitten this small! This little cream colored baby has been growing alongside Mama Hera and four siblings, with plenty of learning still ahead.

Staff have enjoyed watching Hera’s family play together. Zeus is still showing us what makes this little kitten unique, and a home with gentle attention, toys to discover, and comfortable places to rest will offer a lovely start.

Interested in Zeus? Call to check availability. Applications are online: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PWTV/Cat
