Rho Lambda Omega came together to honor our chapter members, family, and friends who have survived breast cancer or lost their battle to this disease.

Following a beautiful prayer reminding us of the precious gift of life, members released pink balloons in a heartfelt tribute to those who continue to fight, those who have overcome, and those whose memories will forever live in our hearts.

Rho Lambda Omega joined forces with Dillard’s at Northpark Mall for a powerful morning of education, awareness, and encouragement, emphasizing the importance of early detection and regular screenings.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Johnny Washington, a 16-year breast cancer survivor, for raising awareness about male breast cancer, and to our very own chapter member, Phaedra Stewart-Scott, who courageously shared her personal journey through diagnosis, treatment, and life afterward. Their testimonies were a powerful reminder that breast cancer impacts both men and women.

Attendees also enjoyed complimentary bra fittings and special discounts!

During today’s October chapter meeting, information, bracelets, and pins were distributed in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Committee members also encouraged everyone to practice breast self-awareness and perform regular self-examinations to help recognize any unusual changes and of course we wore pink💕

Here are a few notable facts about breast cancer:

💕 Breast cancer affects both women and men. 💕It is much more common in women, but men can develop it, too.
💕One in eight women in the United States is expected to develop invasive breast cancer during her lifetime.
💕Hundreds of thousands of new cases of invasive breast cancer are diagnosed among U.S. women each year.
💕Breast cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer death among women in the United States, after lung cancer.
💕Breast cancer can occur at any age, but the risk increases as people get older.
